the Unabomber hid about as well as anyone could hide in a remote cabin and even he was eventually caught. Cause he had to keep killing people and insisted his manifesto was published.
Good they got this guy. he likely would have kept killing as well.
Well this idiot seems to have wanted to get caught by the cops

What keeps coming up is a back surgery that “changed everything” for him and he went “absolutely crazy.”

Not unusual. As a lover of True Crime stories it amazes me how often smart people make dumb mistakes. And apparently a theme with many of those is they simply think they are too smart to get caught. remember these are not people who are thinking logically and rationally.
Like the the Moscow Idaho murders guy…in a PhD program…smart right? And he did a bunch of stuff to try to conceal his movements but then leaves a knife scabbard with his DNA on it at the scene. And he turns off his cell phone the night of the murders to avoid trace but leaves it on previous nights for scouting trips. And so forth.

The question I have is how did he know where the CEO was going to be? Was the location of the broadcast of the investor's meeting public?

I can point to at least a dozen True Crime YouTube channels and you can see for yourself how often these people get caught making mistakes 'too dumb to believe'. And then look surprised in the interrogation room when caught!Logos Stick said:Pumpkinhead said:Dicer said:Pumpkinhead said:Dicer said:

It's not hard to believe making mistakes like the Idaho guy did. But this guy is walking around with the weapon and the fake id he used at the hostel, etc... That is too dumb to believe.
REPORT: Luigi Mangione, who was named a person of interest in the execution of CEO Brian Thompson, was valedictorian of the Gilman School in 2016.

I have found footage of his valedictorian speech at the 119th Gilman School Founder's Day Ceremony.

I left this thread after a poster exalted that the killing made his day. Like it or not there are some disturbed people on the board. What was shocking to me was many people had that attitude or at least were not unhappy about it. We are in a precarious spot as a country. It wasnt a left vs right issue. Definitely some overlap between the antifa and far MAGA crowd.TAMUallen said:

Back injury happened when he was surfing in Hawaii.
Surgery didn’t go great.
Moved to Japan.
His contact with family stopped about a year ago. Recently the family reached out to his friends from high school asking if they had info on him.
So he’s been pretty…
Well, maybe he is on the low end of the scale as a professional assassin. Every group, every graduation class, has someone who is the worst, and maybe he is that.FobTies said:
So much for the "paid hit" by a "professional assassin" narrative.
Is that Luigi's Xray? I guess he has Spondylolisthesis s/p surgery? He is also full of crap.Dicer said:Spoke with a source that had a lot of friends that went to high school with Luigi Mangione.

Martyr? For what? The death penalty would make him dead. Which is what he needs to be.Kenneth_2003 said:I'm very pro-death penalty.techno-ag said:Maybe the feds will take over. The feds have the federal death penalty.AggieUSMC said:
Too bad there's no death penalty in NY. If anyone deserves to die, it's this POS.
But don't make this guy a martyr. Probably better that, assuming he's guilty, he disappears into a state or federal penitentiary somewhere to be forgotten about.

This is me. It did not affect my happiness in the slightest. Not like hearing about young innocent girls in my city getting gang raped and then killed like varmints by savages who shouldn't be here. That actually resonates with me. People are killed every day, some man I don't know and have nothing to do with dying in another state doesn't affect my happiness.pollo hermanos said:I left this thread after a poster exalted that the killing made his day. Right, but there seems to be a lot of enthusiasm and high amount of posting of exactly HOW little people cared about it around here. It's not nothing and it is enough to be noticeable. I'm not saying it's immoral, but it is gross.William Foster said:This is me. It did not affect my happiness in the slightest. It often occurs with activities, often sports, that put high stress on the back. I've most commonly seen it in gymnasts and cheerleaders but can happen with any activity that puts high load on the lower back.Dicer said:
