If all the pockets on that vest were full, he might have gotten off two full mags and the one in the gun is the third. Looks like three empty pockets.

Yeah, I don't think this is going to be one of the cases where he bought the gun a week ago type situations. You have to look to find a carbine with a fixed carry handle now. Perhaps, Dad's, since the loser was still living at home?

I had a Colt AR-15 that came with a carrying handle, just like this one (purchased roughly 5 years ago)

I'd say there's a high likelihood that the shooter is illegal and had been previously deported. Probably multiple times. That's my guess based on what we think we know so far.

Could be Gunny. The last fixed carry handle I had was a crappy Olympic 20 years ago. Just find it odd that someone is kitted out that much without an optic.

Yeah, gonna get a ton of 911 calls and varying level of unreliable eyewitnesses that saw different things in a scenario like this, so initial concern about more shooters is going to be common

Wouldnt be surprised. Had to be a number there. And as awful as it is, with as well armed as he was and the high volume of targets, killing 8 tells me the cop was either pretty damn close or this guy got engaged in some other way

I saw an interview with a kid 18-20 and his mother. He was very level-headed and said they saw him shooting (only shooter), then when the cops walked them out they went past his body and confirmed same guy. This other stuff just sounds like confusion

Sounds like it was a random shooting. Nobody in particular was being targeted. Guy drives up and unloads at the first people he sees.

Read an account of 20 people hiding in the mall bathroom.
