I'll just say the weirdness is you think I'm taking your disagreement personally or I'm upset by it. That my friend, says more about you than it does about me.AggieArchitect04 said:Chuck Cunningham said:

You have an extremely low tolerance if a convo about a show on a forum devoted to movies/shows is weird to you. God help you if you venture further into the internet. Lol.
Yeah, I didn't hate this episode like the masses. Sometimes filmmakers just enjoy a setting and everything they can do with not. Not everything has to advance the plot or answer every question.gigemJTH12 said:
just now watched the mall episode. bookmarking my spot to come back and read after the latest episode.
Mall episode thoughts(most already said)
- thought the mall was cool. thought her seeing simple things for the first time was cool. Would have preferred it be fit into about 15 minutes though.
- really hope we get to see the point where the other girl turns, Ellie has to kill her, and then Eliie realizes she's immune. If we dont see that(if that is even what happens) then thats a huge let down. If they had fit that scene into this episode and took out maybe the carousel scene, I think a lot more people would have been satisfied.
- that ending was heartbreaking yet again. Cannot imagine that feeling of getting bit and knowing its over and youre about to be a f'n zombie

Damn, just realized how well they did on the voice actor/actress selection for the game. Those two are top notch.

Was also pointed out earlier that Tommy's voice actor was the bearded guy in Kansas City, and Marlene's voice actress is playing the same role, so they've done a great job of bringing in the core cast.
I actually found this part believable. The cult was completely submissive to David, which is expected cult behavior. A big clue was when they were eating and the whole commune was wolfing down their meals because they were so hungry, and David got a huge plate. Cult leaders use hunger to control people, and with this being 20 years into the apocalypse, I'm sure by that point David had full control over everyone to the point where they weren't allowed to question anything, or suffer severe consequences.Prosperdick said:The only thing I questioned from the episode was how did the women and children not know about the cannibalism? There is literally nothing to do in the dead of winter for those kids and they didn't snoop around and find the meat locker?AlaskanAg99 said:
I enjoyed this episode.
After 20 years of infection, post apocalyptic living and constant fear of death, most people are not going to be well educated rational thinkers. When someone says "I have the way" and mostly delivers why wouldn't people go along? Then that leader finds men that are willing to get the job done in order to protect their own. Which means killing others in order to survive. America and its government are gone, groups have become tribal.
Even Joel and his brother fit this mold. They have killed and taken in order to survive. It's stated repeatedly.
The party of 4 that was out scavenging, away from the eyes of their wives and children, will do whatever it takes to get through another day. Another week. And they already know this winter is harder, colder and longer as their food supplies dwindle. To that end, it's resulted in cannibalism, they had 3 other bodies already strung up ready to be butchered.
Starving people being fed probably aren't going to ask too many questions.
A solid series to read is called "1 Second After".
I get not asking too many questions when you're starving but you would think one of the men would confide in his wife/partner at some point so that was strange.
I guess the iron fist rule was so harsh they dared not to go investigate anything...like gun shots and the warehouse literally ablaze.

I would disagree and I'm just a show watcher. It was news to me but I don't consider it a spoiler.
We went over this with many shows before especially book reader vs non book reader on GOT. A game player vs non game player is similar. The fact that she is the voice of Ellie in the game is irrelevant to a non game player.
As far as her being cast as the mom, If it is in something officially released for the show - including previews - it is not a spoiler.
If the show people don't try to hide it then it is not a spoiler. And it was not just in next weeks preview it was in a preview before the series aired.
The fact that you (and I) don't pay attention to trailers is irrelevant. It's public info. Not a spoiler.
imho
Does the season preview and individual episode trailers/previews count as show in your mind? Or can it only be the stuff between the opening credits and the ending credits?Chuck Cunningham said:

here's the thing about the casting announcements for certain characters--they are only spoilers if you truly want to know NOTHING about the show going into it. TLOU has done a lot of this because there are a lot of characters that are only in one or two episodes. Before ep 3 I saw Murray Bartlett was cast as Frank. But I had no idea who Frank was and assumed he'd become a major character in the show. But nope, he's just in one episode and all of his screentime was a flashback. Can't say that was a spoiler.Chuck Cunningham said:

Yea get over yourself. We have never operated this way on any other show
exactly. but my point is, someone shoudn't say "get the **** over yourself," since its very possible that someone else has ZERO clue that its not a spoiler. I'm not asking anyone to "protect" me from anything. But a simple, "hey, it was in a preview" is very different than the response in question.Zombie Jon Snow said:AggieOO said:personally, i don't watch any of the previews, so I'd rather not see/read the stuff here either. We can't protect everyone from everything.
By your definition if someone misses something or misses an episode and have zero idea they could think something is a spoiler.
Previews are not spoilers. Period.
It's your personal preference as you said.
If people are that sensitive about it, they need to enact some self discipline and get off the thread. If they "just can't help themselves" and have to go talk about it with people, it's their own fault if they discover something they would rather not have known.AggieOO said:personally, i don't watch any of the previews, so I'd rather not see/read the stuff here either. With that, I'm done with this sidetrack and will go back to things actually directly related to the show.
