Maybe if we just watched the show and waited to see what happens, we would be left with a satisfying answer for why Joel either lives or dies. Idk, I know that's a lot to ask.

I watch everything with subtitles. Every movie and show has become hard to understand in recent years. I saw a youtube video trying to explain why, but I don't buy their excuses. I forgot what they were, but it was basically blaming the public and not the movie makers. I can understand older movies/shows fine on my current TV setup, but not new ones. So I can't see how it's my fault.Ghost of Bisbee said:
Anyone else watch all their shows with subtitles like me because I can never hear voiceover audio well?
The part where Tommy is giving directions to Joel on how to reach the university, the subtitles say "shouldn't be hard to miss".
Spouse paused to get into a deep conversation about how Tommy should have said "should be hard to miss" because "shouldn't be hard to miss" is an improper double negative. We argued about it for 5 minutes
Rewind back to the scene. Tommy says "Should be hard to miss", the subtitles just ****ed it up
Holy hell, I agree with you! Subtitle everything but sports.aTmAg said:I watch everything with subtitles. Every movie and show has become hard to understand in recent years. There was a whole thread about that here awhile back - pretty interesting as I recall. Maybe somebody can find and post the link.aTmAg said:I watch everything with subtitles. I hate them, and I hate that sometimes I have to use them. I find myself just reading the whole time instead of watching the scene, even if I can hear the dialogue clearly.gigemJTH12 said:

While I am aware of how muddy the sound mixing is these days I would rather not watch TV than have to watch TV with subtitles.

I would put it the other way. You WANT to look at the screen, but you can't because you HAVE to read the subtitles.Definitely Not A Cop said:
Been calling them subtitties for years because I've become dependent / can't take my eyes off them.Ghost of Bisbee said:

You read that wrong. I WANT to look at tits, just like I want to look at the main part of the screen, but I HAVE to look at her face (aka the subtitles) despite not wanting to.Ghost of Bisbee said:

You're an enigma
