Be careful out there, re: TV spots. I randomly saw a 15-second, HBO Max-produced spot last night on TNT after one of the NBA games and two split-second shots totally spoiled a big moment later in the season. Why they included those shots is beyond me, but it pissed me off.
This is why I avoid the episode previews!

Basically though they follow this schedule:
Tuesday- big table read through- go through all the potential scripts and Lorne and the host pick the top 10 or so.
Rest of week do some rehersals,
Friday do a dress rehearsal, Saturday during the day do a full run through that is filmed, then the live show.
They have cards with colored writing for all of the lines that they can just read off of if they want to. Walken is kind of infamous for just reading off the card unapologetically.

It's nothing you did. It's just that the thread has been pretty contentious the past few days, as we've attempted to define what, exactly, is/isn't allowed here, spoiler-wise. So when you showed up all chipper, it was just kind of funny. Like someone excitedly showing up to a married couple's house, unaware that they just had a long, drawn out fight.

I take it she had not evolved into a clicker yet. Clickers can't see because the fungus has overtaken their eyes. The fungus could still see through grandmas eyes.

I'd rather not engage in a convo over there, where people start replying to what was shown. If you're really curious, I just did a search in YouTube for "last of us spot" and one of the two shots I'm referring to is actually the thumbnail for the fourth result/video down, titled "The Last of Us HBO Show NEW FOOTAGE - (TLOU HBO)." I swear some of these people maliciously include shots like the one I'm talking about in their thumbnails, just to piss people off. Granted, it's not like a mega spoiler or anything, but it's still absolutely confirmation of something that hasn't yet been answered. For the life of me, I can't understand why HBO would include it in official marketing, as nothing in any of the other trailers/episode previews ever really gives anything away.

Yep, the open to the first episode addressed this. The fungus alters the host's mind to achieve its ends while keeping the host alive as long as its useful. I was curious why we saw that infected in the first episode who seemed glued to the wall, since it seems like all the other infected are able to move and attack. I guess there are some whose bodies no longer provide sustenance to the fungus and are killed.
I don't understand why some seem to be instantly sick and attacking (early in Ep 1 when they are attacked in town ) but others get infected, Tess and the little girl they checked halfway thru Ep1 and gave her a drug to kill her and threw her on the burn pile, and they're fine for a few hours.BowSowy said:Yep, the open to the first episode addressed this. Also, how do the infected stay alive? They still need food of some kind, even as a host.
Who was instantly sick? Everyone we've seen so far slowly turned over time. If you pay attention, there is a sign in Boston describing the infection:
That poster on the wall explained it. It depends where you get bit. If you get bit on the ankle, it will take longer than if you get bit on the neck. Rabies does the same thing. You could be scratched by a bat and then last for many months until you start showing symptoms (and by then it's already too late.. you might as well jump off a bridge to end it before it starts to really suck).
