A watcher of the show can discuss where they might go, whether he sets out for Tommy or even gets that far. He and Tess were planning to go to Tommy before he got stuck with Ellie.
When those who played the game start talking about their trek west, they are immediately confirming guesses from non-gamers.
So yeah, those who have played the game should not be posting guesses about the show on this thread, because they are drawing from both the show and their knowledge of the game. There is literally a whole other thread they can post their own guesses on. Why post them here? It's really not that hard.

Would that be OK? Just trying to establish the exact phrasing that must be used not to piss off people.
And to restate, again, there are multiple games and some people haven't played both while some have only played part of the first. So those people are more than entitled to post here (assuming they don't post spoilers).

It's mentioned in the first episode that Tommy is in Wyoming and Ellie explains to Joel that she was supposed to be transported somewhere out west where scientists are working on a cure. I know this information from the show and NOT the game. If you've been paying attention it's obvious they are heading west, also because from Boston that's pretty much the only direction they can go.TCTTS said:

I'm with DallasTeleAg on this, 100% (shocking, I know).
Is what taco said super spoilery? No. Again, it's obvious they're going on a journey, and it can be inferred they're almost assuredly leaving Boston. That's not the issue, though.
It's that we JUST laid the ground rules that you DON'T speculate if you're a gamer. Yet, not even 24 hours later, taco posts that he *had* played the game, and then went on to "speculate" in the very same post. It's the principle of the matter, one that opens the door for others to do the same thing.
The juvenile bickering over a tv show has been just as entertaining.
