Why is anyone surprised? They're stringing this along until the battle, which is all anyone wants out of this season.

It's lame, but nothing new for the writers. I think they hang out with the GOT guys and compete for most boring episodes in the middle of the season.

Those two shows ratios of excitement to boring are on completely different planets. GOT may have 2-3 out of ten be considered "boring". WD may have 2-3 out of ten be considered exciting these days.

Not even close comparison. Do you really think the battle with the Saviors will be as good as the "Battle of the *******s" episode? No way.

Teacher: This is only 2 pages!
Student: Yeah it's pretty thorough though. See here's wher...
Teacher: The assignment is for a 10 page book report!
Student: Yeah I know, but really this book only has abou-
Teacher: Go back to work and don't bring it back to me until it's AT LEAST 10 pages.
Student: But...
Teacher: Go!

Student: Okay I managed to get it to 6 pages.
Teacher: Bad news buddy, turns out we're selling these at the PTA meetings, and these book reports are selling like hot cakes now. Needs to be 14 pages.
Student: 14 Pages...?!?!?!!
Teacher: Yup! See you later, better get on it!

I was hoping for a lot more action this season. to find out it was 13+ episodes developing character's' inner struggle leading up to an eventual war is extremely disappointing.

Ever since Scott Gimple took over as show runner in Season 4. It's been a steady decline. It's obvious based on his Talking Dead appearances that he thinks he is much more clever than he actually is.

This show blows now. I don't even know if I'll watch the last two episodes at this point. Even if I manage my way through them, im not coming back for another season. It's insulting at this point.

I don't really care, but they are definitely flying the rainbow flag. The Jesus dialog in particular was forced. Felt more like a quota check box than actual character development.

Just one of many low points in this episode... The whole thing felt forced with only a few important tidbits.

Get off your high horse. I'm not one that's offended or whatever by "the gay agenda". I just am sick of the sappy dialogue. The reason for me pointing it out is that the writers are trying to make it about something other than the plot lines we care about.

But what I'm saying is they aren't trying to make it about that. It was like a 45 second conversation. I went back and watched it again - 45 seconds. I don't know why you and others think they're shoving it in your face. It shouldn't even be worth complaining about.

Literally half of your original complaint was "look another gay character." But feel free to keep distancing yourself from that sentiment if you think it makes you look better.

For the record, I don't disagree that the endless conversations on this show are making it more boring. But this wasn't one of them. Heaven forbid they spend less than a minute on Jesus's background.

To be clear. It's accurate to the source material. He is gay in the comics.

So they aren't just making things up to push an agenda. Maybe it plays a part down the line. I don't know. But this wasn't made up for the show.

But I agree. There are things that can be done to prevent most bites.


It's besides the point. At some point, the show lost sight of the survival aspect of a zombie world- from scarcity of resources being disregarded frequently (gas, food, etc) to characters over and over doing stupid stuff to needlessly get in danger of getting bitten without consequence. The lack of attention to detail is annoying to off-putting as a viewer.

The other big problem in my mind is too much screen time with the characters split. Imo when the show was at its best is when most of the main cast members were on screen working together to survive.

yeah, if they're not going to have Negan wives scenes, they should at least lace some Shane and Andrea in the car flashbacks into some of these episodes every now and then. At least suicidal Sasha is finally about to meet Lucile.

That didn't take long. It's a zombie show...at least operate within the laws of nature within the assumption that a virus has caused dead people to re animate. Would we be cool if Rick could fly too?
