I don't know if they're trying to set up Eugene for some huge redemption story but I'm sick of seeing his crybaby face and hand wringing. Was really hoping he was about to kiss Lucille.

So what story lines do we have going on right now?

1. Alexandria - planning a war w/ the Saviors
2. Hilltop - Maggie's about take over as president & will join Alexandria's "war" w/ the Saviors
3. Kingdom - Connected to Alexandria through Morgan. That one dude would definitely join the war if they can convince the King.
4. Carol - Her being secluded from the Kingdom will probably matter at some point
5. Lesbia - (community of women) - Tons of guns. Tara knows about them. I'm sure she'll try to bring them into the war next season.
6. Daryl - Knows Negan's compound inside and out. Also knows who might turn on Negan. He's probably ready to kill every Savior he can find, bud I'm sure is a little screwed up in the head.
7. Dwight & his ex-wife - will probably turn on Negan
8. Eugene - Taken by Negan. I personally believe the "Eugene is a traitor" theory expressed here earlier. Regardless, Negan sees Eugene's usefulness as a bullet-maker/nerd. So Eugene will be on the inside when the eventual war starts. Will he redeem himself?

Story lines that are left unfinished...
9. The guy in the weird boots spying on Alexandria - He saw Rick & Aaron at the lake house as they were leaving. Maybe he was returning home as Rick & Aaron took off and wants his stuff back? Or is he someone else? Potential ally? Or potential enemy?
10. The Wolves - Whatever happened to those guys?
11. Heath - He's alive, otherwise we'd have seen him dead or at least his zombie. My guess is that he's with another village who'll join Alexandria for the war, or he's joined a Saviors group somewhere and will help out when the moment is right (like a sleeper cell).


What else am I missing?

I just hope that Tara getting Lesbia on board takes about a minute of screen time and not a complete episode.

The end. I'm glad Negan is slowly killing off the stupid people.

It's gonna take the entire next part of the season for the "big war" to happen. You covered it pretty well, but I'd also add that most of next season is going to turn into a massive manhunt for Daryl once Negan gets back to his place. Might be Negan's "breaking point" as he spirals into complete insanity looking for Daryl. More people will die at all the settlements because they won't tell Negan where Daryl is, and I bet he even turns on the people in his own camp suspecting mutiny.

Not sure how I felt about this episode. Wish Rick would have had a plan for the guns he found instead of just handing them over. And I thought Eugene making a **** load of bullets for said guns would have been awesome.

Hopefully Rick goes off in total Rickatorship mode next half season and makes it all worth it.

If he waits for too long (which he almost certainly will), he may not have enough foot soldiers left to fight.

Soft!? He literally said (with his actions) "I can do whatever the **** I want. Kill your friends. Hold your baby. Save your son." He could have billed them all but he wants rick to work for him not be a comatose heap in a corner.

Eugene should just create a bunch of defective bullets that jam up the saviors' guns. That seems like a Eugene-thing to do.

I don't think he's being soft. He's being smart. In the end, he's just one dude. If he literally killed everyone for everything, he'd lose control. He knows that killing Rick will cause an uprising, hence his reaction to Spencer.

It was past time for Spencer to go, so that was definitely a plus.

I was growing tired of Negan just being impressed with everyone else's badassery. I'm glad he went back to his killing roots and wacked two people...well...three if you count the fat chick as two.

Fat chick had no place in their world. People like her and Eugene who just can't seem to accept their new reality are infuriating. Glad she's gone.

Weird boots guy from the walker pond was watching Father Gabriel through binoculars from outside the wall.

They showed that dude that was watching Rick and Aaron clear out the boat with the cable around his combat boot jumping the fence to Alexandria.

He doesn't kill the people that deserve it the most... he tries to mind * them. He's always been like that. Daryl gets 1 punch in and Negan lets him watch Glen get his skull caved in.

Guy sleeps with one of his wives and he gathers an audience to burn half his face off.

Guy brings him a pool table, a drink, and warns him about Rick and Negan opens his belly with everybody watching.

The pattern is pretty clear at this point!

The person in boots who showed up after Rick and Aaron found all that stuff in the lake was watching Gabriel in Alexandria
