Am I the only one thinking that just turning back around and heading back to Georgia (or anywhere for that matter) would be a viable option? I mean, Negan's reach only extends so far.

at first I thought the "Eugene is/will turn into a traitor" theory was pretty crazy, but now I'm hoping it happens just for the sake of something interesting happening
Those are some specialized combat tactics. You'd have to train, have ambush emplacements prepared, and know your enemies' arrival was eminent. Rick hadn't even told them the true extent of Negan's control yet.
When Negan gave Daryl the opportunity to speak up and to say if he wanted to stay with Rick, did anyone else think that he was going to try to talk and reveal that he'd had his tongue cut out? Had that 'feel' to me, and as we were waiting to see if he was going to speak I suddenly recalled Negan at the beginning of the episode saying something to Rick about 'cooperate and I won't have you cut a piece off Daryl'.

My how far Rick has fallen. In one single episode, he's come out as a cuckold (admitting he's raising Shane & Lori's kid), a beta male (getting throat-effed by Negan and thanking him for it) AND a stay-at-home mommy (kneeling and making the bed as working parent Michonne comes home from a hard day at the office - as he was making sure to smooth the corners of the sheets, I half-expected Michonne to slap him on the ass and ask what's for dinner).
They've grown soft in Alexandria. Hitting the road would definitely been smart. But Maggie and whatsherface are at HIlltop and Morgan & Carole are AWOL. That's a big part of the A Team to abandon.Gota De Limon said:

I don't think he would try to talk if he had his tongue cut out. He'd probably do exactly what he did do.

Has it been discussed how much of an idiot Carl was that episode? Like, what did he really expect to happen?
I blame the writers and producers big time on this. They are trying to keep him true to the "source material", but he's a hell of a lot older in the TV show than he is there. The actions don't seem as idiotic if a 12 YO is doing them....but a 17 YO? Come on.JABQ04 said:

I don't understand why someone doesn't just kill neegan on the spot. In front of all his people showing that you just don't give a ***** There might be a fight afterwards but what does that matter. Neegan clearly runs everything and has even all his own people in fear and hating him. This show annoys me so bad but I keep watching it.

Kind of an interesting twist on "going to the mattresses" as they say.
So now Alexandria and the Hilltop don't have guns. Looks like the Kingdom will have to do the heavy lifting.
