I'd say mission accomplished for State. If they can keep Vandy down another inning, they could get into the bullpen and win this, but, even if they lose, they've done what they needed to do.

Unless they get out of this inning without more damage, I don't think they can afford to burn another arm today, if there's any chance they might need that arm tomorrow. It's now or never as far as staying in this game.

That's huge. This is it. They have to get Rocker out this inning, or at least not have him come back next inning. Get into that bullpen, and they can win this, but they are walking a very fine line.

If you're Corbin, how deep do you let Rocker go? I mean, you can saddle up and have him throw 125, but then you can just about forget about bringing him back in the championship round. On the other hand, a quick inning here, maybe you roll the dice on your bullpen?

If he is effective and keeps good mechanics I let him go 120ish. I wouldn't feel good about bringing him back after 90 pitches either.

This has been the perfect worst storm for Vandy because NC State has hung around.
