Statistics has gone beyond bunting other than in extreme situations.
Plus, in things like travel ball, parents pay a lot of money for their kid to play and won't let coaches make them bunt. It's sad, but that's how it is now.
That's a shame, it's part of the game. Probably parents who have no clue how to play the game. We used to have bunting practice and lots of it. I never remember seeing anyone hit in the face.

I was an ok hitter, but I could damn sure bunt from both sides of the plate. I watch these shifts today and scream at the tv, "Drag bunt the ball the other way, it's easy!!"

Other than maybe soccer, select has killed team sports. Everything is every-man-for-himself out there.

That's rich coming from someone who registered for and posts on a forum of a team they claim isn't a rival.
Sorry that the Big XII isn't up to par and that we joined the better league while you're left with OU dragging the corpse of the Big XII along. We'd rather root for our conference foes than the likes of tu (who we beat as well, mind you). Oh and we beat Baylor and OU as well.
