Late Soviet architecture. We're weirdly good at replicating that.
I actually thought it looked better than some of the other designs we have seen recently.

I was living in Austin when the first condos downtown came out. These are 10x better.
CoCS doesn't want more stealth dorms and Ag shacks. The older apartment complexes have a lot of non-students in them now. So we get the brutal high rises.

The space is very nice, classy. The bartenders are super friendly and know their stuff (shoutout to my man Anthony). The drinks are good, and a nice mix of classics and their own house specialties.
Limitations: their own booze is, well, limited. It takes awhile for white whiskey to become regular whiskey. There's no food, not even bar snacks, and that's the biggest complaint I've heard.
All in all a net win for downtown Bryan.

Hold off on visiting the new Firehouse for a while. Made the mistake of going today. Drive-thru line was wrapped around to the front of the building and things weren't much better on the inside. I'm sure the hype will die down eventually but for now, you'd be better off driving to the other location.

In the shopping center on Texas Ave /Harvey Rd (formally Culpepper Plaza) near the AT&T store.
The owner of the location on Texas/Harvey is also the one who opened the new location on Fitch. He's always been incredibly nice every time we go into the Texas Ave location, so we stopped by around 11:15 today to grab a quick bite and tell him hi/good luck. He said this week was supposed to be a soft launch with the drive-thru only but that Rusty posted they were fully open and now they are just running with it versus turning people away. They'll get staffed correctly and work out the kinks, I have no doubt. He's always run the first location very well.
