Pulling into Encinal as I'm typing this. Got my dad as a wingman this weekend and going to try to put him in a good mgmt 8 or 9. FIL caught a glimpse of a monster buck opening weekend so I may try to see if I can find him too. Supposedly has a 6-7" club for a drop tine. Really wide and heavy. Said it almost gave him a heart attack. That's saying something for a guy that's hunted South Texas for 30 or so years. This weekend is setting up beautiful as far as the temps go.

A nippy 83 degrees with a slight breeze at 21 mph from the SE here in Dinero, TX. Perfect weather to get the whitetails moving.
Temp fell 15 degrees since 1pm. Got 30 min of light rain to boot. Really nice now, around 60 degrees and gusty from nw. I'm hunting on a creek bed tonight but no moevent all day minus this 4pt a few min ago.
Front is pushing through Uvalde. Wind is up and has the deer spooked. Popped a piggy already and now looking at a young 10pt.
Hitting up SASP tomorrow... There will be about a 60 degree temp swing from last time I was there.
Gotta wake up at 5, be in the blind by 6. Cold front is blowing through around 7:30.

35 degrees and pretty calm in Coryell County. Technically not in the stand, but sitting on the ground on the edge of a field on my land, hunting over some hand corn I tossed out last night. Neighbor down the road killed a buck that scored 167" last weekend, definitely got me pumped after my Colorado elk hunt was a bust.
