In the stand in Bell County. Jumped a doe and fawn walking to the stand and shined my flaslight on a pretty nice buck. Hoping I see him again.

78 degrees when I got in the stand. Sweating a good bit after walking in then battling a bunch of yellow jackets that moved into the blind at some point today. 8 dead. Smart move by my dad to leave a couple cans of wasp spray in the stand.

Apparently there's a civil war going on in my area today. Neighbor across the road a ways away has fired off about 20 rounds out of his AR, another neighbor a ways away also has been running a chainsaw and what I can only assume to be taking down every tree on his property and another neighbor fairly close just fired off 2 rounds about 10 minutes apart. At least I have whiskey.

My sixteen year old daughter dropped her first deer this morning in Goliad. She nailed a spike in the neck at 110 yards with my 30-06. It was even the first shot at a deer she has ever made - the second at a live animal (first being a turkey). The sweetest part was she called her shot. That spike dropped immediately. She has been puffed up all day
