Also realized last night that this may be the last weekend I can make general season. Sucks so much that it ends on freaking New Year's Day.
Anyone have any success using doe calls during the rut?

Have never had success with doe calls. But I have with buck grunts.
I'm at this point too unless I move a few days around. Supposed to bird hunt or work every weekend from now through the end of the year. I'll probably swap a weekend (maybe next weekend) but my days are dwindling for sure.Furlock Bones said:

Ahhhh, the beauty of small parcel hunting. I waited for just the right wind to hunt the biggest bedding area on the farm. It's a beech to get to do I came in about noon just hoping something might move the last hour of the day. Chiefs game is over so now the neighbor is running and gunning in four wheelers about 75 yards from me.

Haha. I thought hit him too far back as well. Guide told me to shoot because he was about to bolt. He was quartering away more than I thought. That bullet ended up through middle of his heart.
