Cornyn was a RINO as he went with Biden on immigration and said we didn't need wall. He votes the way he thinks helps him, not Texas

We're fully off the rails on a derail now so staff is free to clean it up, but I'm not really sure why anyone would need data to prove something that's so common sense. There was no way that Oz was winning the primary without Trump's endorsement. Anyways, from grok:

Quote:

Trump endorsed Mehmet Oz on April 9, 2022, in the Pennsylvania Republican U.S. Senate primary (May 17 election). The race was crowded (main contenders: Oz, David McCormick, and later-surging Kathy Barnette). Polling showed Oz trailing or competitive before the endorsement and then gaining a modest bump into a statistical tie or narrow lead afterward, though it never produced a decisive breakaway.
Before the endorsement
Oz started with name recognition from his TV show but faced attacks on his conservative credentials, residency, and past positions. McCormick (a former hedge-fund CEO) overtook him amid heavy spending and ads:
Early March 2022 Fox News poll: McCormick 24%, Oz 15% (McCormick +9).
Late February Free Beacon/TargetPoint poll: McCormick 25%, Oz 19%.
Closer to the endorsement, some surveys showed a near-tie or tight race with high undecideds (often 30%+). McCormick's internal polling reportedly had him ahead; Oz's claimed the reverse. In the last six public polls conducted mostly or fully before the nod, McCormick led by single digits in four of them.
After the endorsement
Public polls shifted toward Oz, putting the race into a tighter three-way contest as Barnette also rose:
Late April Monmouth University poll (first major one after time for the endorsement to register): Oz and McCormick led the field; among those "very likely" to support a candidate, Oz 22%, McCormick 19%, Barnette 18%.
Early May Franklin & Marshall: Oz ~18% (nearly doubled from ~10% in March), McCormick ~16%.
May Fox News: Oz 22%, McCormick 20%, Barnette 19% (Oz flipped the earlier 9-point deficit into a small edge; 37% of voters said the Trump endorsement made them more supportive of Oz, 22% less supportive, 37% no effect).
Late polls (mid-May Emerson, Trafalgar, etc.): Oz generally in the mid-to-high 20s or low 30s (sometimes with leaners), often with a small lead over McCormick and/or Barnette, though margins were within error and undecideds remained notable.
Oz's campaign pointed to internal polls showing a widened lead post-endorsement. Analyses described a bump that improved his position from trailing to competitive/leading but fell short of the stronger effects Trump endorsements sometimes produced elsewhere (e.g., J.D. Vance in Ohio). The race stayed fluid and close through Election Day.
Outcome
Oz won the primary extremely narrowly (official margin ~951 votes, or ~0.07 percentage points: Oz 31.1%, McCormick 31.0%, Barnette ~24.6%). McCormick conceded after a recount. The endorsement helped Oz consolidate enough support to edge out the win but did not dominate the primary electorate.
In short, pre-endorsement polling had Oz generally trailing McCormick by single digits (or in a close race with high undecideds); post-endorsement, he moved into a slight lead or statistical tie in most surveys and ultimately prevailed by a razor-thin margin in a still-competitive field.

"I know personally that I've learned as much about my faith from Salman's tradition, from the Islamic mystics, from poets like Rumi, as much as I have from Christian authors and Christian writers," said Talarico.

His "faith" is nothing more than a cynical tool to influence weak minds into voting for him. He "practices" Christianity the same way that a psychopaths practices human emotions and empathy. He really doesn't understand it or feel any of it, but he can learn to go through the motions well enough to gain other's trust.

Correct. As I noted on another thread, Talarico provides a service to people raised in the church, mostly white liberals, who know they have participated in or embraced degenerate behaviors. He is a way out for them. An out that doesn't actually require anything of them as he has washed away their sins by normalizing them.

When did Talafreako move in with mommy and daddy in Austin? Probably too late to run for HD50 but rules don't apply to democrats.
Quote:

A voter-registration history reviewed by The Dallas Express lists December 5, 2021, as the "Reg Date" for state Rep. James Talarico (D-District 50) at an Austin address associated with his parents.

An official campaign-finance filing lists a $1,437.84 in-kind contribution from his parents dated December 12 and described as "Moving expenses." Both entries came after the November 8 constitutional residency deadline for the Austin-area district he sought in 2022.

Talarico announced on October 13, 2021, that he would move from Round Rock "back to HD50" and run for the newly drawn seat. Because the general election was November 8, 2022, the Texas Constitution required him to live in the district by November 8, 2021.

The records reviewed by The Dallas Express do not establish exactly when Talarico began living at the Austin address. His campaign did not answer questions about the move, the registration date or the expense before publication.

Quote:

Campaign does not answer

The Dallas Express asked Talarico's campaign when he established residency in House District 50, what the December 5 date represents, what the "Moving expenses" contribution covered and whether he maintains that he satisfied the constitutional requirement.

The request also asked the campaign to provide records supporting its response. DX received an automated acknowledgment, but the campaign provided no substantive response before publication.

The same demand for answers

Talarico has repeatedly challenged Texas election rules. During a July 2021 Fox News interview, he said, "I oppose voter ID." In a May 2026 podcast interview, he said alleged voter suppression meant he would need to win by a larger margin than he would in what he called a "completely free and fair election."

On July 24, Talarico accused Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-Texas), his Republican opponent in the U.S. Senate race, of committing voter fraud by voting from the wrong address in six elections.

The accusation followed reporting by ProPublica and The Texas Tribune concerning the Collin County address Paxton used to vote. Paxton's campaign denied wrongdoing and called the report "baseless" and "lie-filled."

The allegations are not legally identical. The Paxton dispute concerns the address he used to vote. The question surrounding Talarico concerns whether he established residence in House District 50 by the constitutional deadline for his 2022 campaign.

Talarico demanded answers about where Paxton lived and voted. When The Dallas Express asked Talarico when he established residency in House District 50 and requested records supporting his answer, his campaign did not respond.

When Paxton starts campaigning on being a preacher and a man of the cloth we can do that. Until then he's just your run of the mill slimy politician which, by the way, Talarico also qualifies as. You're going to tell us about his corruption but you can't point to much tangible and certainly not enough to make me vote for communism.

Your boy is a meme, literally embracing every far left loony bin position currently en vogue today which seems utterly impossible. I mean Shirley there's SOMETHING he isn't ok with. Nope. He's for the thing, whatever that thing is. It's really quite bizarre.

That woman is Candace Webber. She's one of the resident crazies. Her schtick is to go to political events and stir **** up to get attention (clearly it's working as evidenced by your your posting it). I can guarantee you just about everyone in that room knows who she is and probably rolled their eyes when she got up to speak. She once pulled a similar stunt at an event I attended where she claimed Senfronia Thompson (the longest-serving member of the Texas House) was unelectable. She's willfully delusional.

I would bet Talarico was briefed on her being in the room before the event started and told to ignore her grandstanding.

I honestly don't believe she thinks that far ahead. Back when I was active in local politics, anytime I was present at an event she attended she did this same thing. It didn't matter who was there or what the issue(s) at hand was. She just likes to yell at people and make a scene.

Knowing about the candidates is important and should be understood, but in the end, all that matters is how each candidate will vote when they get to Washington. That's all a senator does. Vote and give speeches. Everything else is just noise.

It's abundantly clear that Paxton is conservative and will vote for conservative positions, and Talarico is an AOC/Mamdani leftist that will vote for socialism. When you separate out all the chaff, Paxton is the easy choice.

I don't think he was ready to endorse him. I think he NEEDED Cornyn to think he might endorse him to try to get Cornyn to put some effort into moving the SAVE act in the senate. He also couldn't come out with an endorsement of Paxton when there was still a chance Cornyn might win the runoff. Once it became clear Cornyn was going to lose the runoff and nothing was going to happen on SAVE, there was no reason for Trump to hold back his endorsement of Paxton anymore. He couldn't afford the possibility of making an enemy out of Cornyn and then having to deal with him in the senior senate leadership through 2028.

he has pandered to every corner of the big communist tent:

- he ran a vegan campaign for state house to pander to the green new deal supporting climate alarmists
- he said white people are infected by and spread a disease to pander to the dei/ equity of outcomes socialist faction in addition to making comments about how we shouldn't have prisons, and how police in schools contribute to a culture of violence, and he's a paid "equitable education consultant" of an NGO that supports defunding police

- he preached from his religious pulpit that it's okay to crush your babies' skulls with forceps and rip their limbs off with a vacuum because "the Angel Gabriel gave Mary a choice to have Jesus" to pander to the single issue selfish debauchery base
- he says the one thing he loves the most besides family is trans kids, he calls women "friends with a uterus", he says god is nonbinary and he states with authority that there are six genders to pander to the mentally ill freak shows in the base
- he hires the ___ not glocks brain to his campaign to pander to the anti-liberty disarming the population socialist revolutionary base

- in the state house, he abstained from voting on Jocelyn's Law to deny illegal immigrants bail for violent charges, he voted against Damon Allen Act to restrict bail for violent and sexual offenders, he voted against measures that included mandatory sentences for human smuggling, he voted against a ban on state income tax, he voted against a ban on death taxes, he opposed property tax cut measures, he voted against a ban on gender affirming care for minors, Mr reverend / preacher / seminarian himself voted against the 10 commandments in schools, and overall he missed hundreds of votes and goes on TV and podcasts and lies about it.

I'll take the guy who has sued the feds over open borders, election security, O&G lease moratoriums, etc. --- real anti-communist work --- over a commie any of the week. complain all you want about the non-communist option in this two party system, but it's too late- primaries are over. This is the choice and he was a better choice than Corn brisket, who worked with the socialist regime on gun control legislation and other back-stabbing matters.

Of course, now that he got the coastal and foreign elites in the socialist regime establishment to switch their investment from Jazmine to him and he won his primary, his campaign is going to air lying commercials to fool people into thinking he worked as a bi-partisan bridge to pass anti-communist measures in Texas like lowering taxes - and worse - try to trick people into thinking that he's normal. But we know he actually fled the state to Chicago to break quorum and not vote on important bills like relief for flood victims in the name of calling redistricting "racist" and the real measures he and his socialist party support for "affordability", like redistribution of wealth, are what he actually supports - not lowering taxes.

Texas cannot let communist candidates take over the US Senate. Communists might take over anyway, with other contested mid-term senate races in Alaska, Michigan, Ohio, Maine, Georgia, New Hampshire, Iowa.. and there's a lot of stupid people out there... but we cannot let TEXAS help with this destruction of America.

The choice should be really easy and sitting this one out is a vote for communism.

He is a way out for them. An out that doesn't actually require anything of them as he has washed away their sins by normalizing them.

Paxton is a fierce conservative that has repeatedly gone after unconstitutional acts by the left. He's proven with actual action that he's not afraid to fight for and defend the constitution of the US.

except for the fraud repayments he made

Honestly, I'm trying to save you the effort.

No one cares. You're going to have to dig up something much, much, worse, than shady businesses dealings and crappy husband.

Most of us are simply casting the anti-commie vote. Paxton is the anti-commie in the race. So he gets my vote. Nothing is going to change that.

Well, I can see now why his brand of "Christianity" is a lie and wrong.

Quote:

"I know personally that I've learned as much about my faith from Salman's tradition, from the Islamic mystics, from poets like Rumi, as much as I have from Christian authors and Christian writers," said Talarico.

His "faith" is nothing more than a cynical tool to influence weak minds into voting for him. He "practices" Christianity the same way that a psychopaths practices human emotions and empathy. He really doesn't understand it or feel any of it, but he can learn to go through the motions well enough to gain other's trust.

I apply "conservative values" to how he votes, and only how he votes. I honestly DGAF if he's a crap husband, sticks his wang in anything and everything he can, smokes a joint, drinks, etc.

Why? Because literally every politician has a personal life we could all tear apart if we cared enough to do so. They are no different than any other cross section of society. So going into any election with the understanding that both candidates are probably sleazballs makes it a lot easier to look at the only thing that really matters - how do they vote?

One of the candidates has an actual history of political conservative values, and backing them up.

The other still has a checking account with his mommy, thinks there are 6 genders, loves him some trans kids (to the point he gives them his phone number) and is a bona fide communist.

One will ostensibly vote in the manner I want. The other is guaranteed not to. The choice is easy and clear as to which one will be poltically better than the other.
