D is what I've been thinking since he got asked about doing the podcast and the kid dying was mentioned. It was pretty fast, but it seemed significant to me at the time.

Yep. Said the same after it aired.

It was significant but I don't buy him calling out his dad for covering it up. What extremely wealthy parent wouldn't? And IIRC Marcia was involved as well. I dunno.

C would be a pretty incredible TV moment, but would be a bummer to me because I'm fascinated with Kendall's character. I know they can't continue to "Silicon Valley" him without viewers getting tired of it, but I still think there's some juice in that squeeze if they don't kill him off.

Stoked for the finale!

Maybe Kendall's confession and going to jail would save Tom and ultimately get him to finally go against Waystar, or at the very least Shiv.

Heading into the weekend, cast your vote/prediction...

A) Kendall is dead, except the rest of the family doesn't find out until during/after the wedding (hence why no one seems affected by his death in the preview for the finale).

B) Kendall isn't dead yet, but dies in the finale.

C) Kendall isn't dead yet, but commits suicide in the finale. Though, not before publicly coming clean about his role in the death of the waiter in the season one finale, taking Logan down with him as one last act of rebellion/f-you to the old man.

D) Kendall doesn't die in the finale, but publicly comes clean about his role in the death of the waiter, taking Logan down with him. Kendall then goes to jail and is effectively written off the show/only makes limited appearances from here on out.

E) Kendall plays a part in orchestrating a last-second Gojo/Pierce merger, a company in which he will be involved in some official capacity going forward (continuing as the effective lead of the show), thereby severely wounding Waystar.

F) None of the above. No one here is as smart as the writers, so why even try?

Gun to my head, I think I'm going with option D. Honestly, though, I love that a legitimate argument can be made for each and every option, and not a single one would surprise me.

Either way, I can't remember the last time a finale was set up in such a brilliant way, with so much speculation and so much hanging in the balance.

Cannot wait.
I'll go with F - something comes up with Logan's health and Kendall does not die.

D feels like a series finale move. If Kendall goes to jail and takes down Logan too, then Logan would also go to jail and/or lose the company.

I think a combo of B and E...Like Kendall's life is in limbo during the finale and it turns out his will has his shares being left or sold to Gojo. So maybe he is brain dead but the family is trying to keep from pulling the plug to secure his shares before the merger or something, with him ultimately dying and Gojo becoming the big man in the merger. Next season is Logan trying to claw back into power in his own company.

After watching the episode I was firmly thinking A. Just don't see how a show like this loads and cocks that gun without having it go off.

After a few days, I'm kinda thinking D, but that would require a character doing something that's morally right, and I think that goes against the ethos of the show.

F it, IDK.

Every time I go to write an answer, I pause and delete thinking that's not actually the way it'll go.

I'll say Kendall's dead, and the family finds out during the wedding when Kendall no-shows.

same. I'm going with E - Pierce/Gojo merger. I don't think there's a death and I think Kendall ends on a positive note. They don't want to repeat season 1 broken Kendall

So ready for tonight.

That said I'm also bummed we have no more Succession for probably another ~2 years after this.

Seasons one and two were 2018 and 2019, respectively. The only reason there was a two-year gap between seasons two and three was the pandemic. Filming was about to begin on season three in March '20 for a fall '20 premiere when the pandemic hit. So, hopefully they're back on track and season four is late '22. Or, the first half of '23 at the latest. We shall see…

Hopefully so. After covid (and even before) it just seemed like the year gap between seasons was a thing of the past. Hell, I don't even remember when the last Stranger Things was. 2019?

Hope you're right though.

Yeah, it's hard to say. It's mainly the effects-heavy series that are needing two years between seasons. While hour-long dramas like Yellowstone and The Great have managed to keep pace with a season per year during the pandemic, and I imagine Succession will as well. That said, HBO's 2022 slate is already insane, and yeah, it might take Succession longer to prep/film with all the Covid protocols, Omicron variant, etc.

In wake of the finale, the filmmakers will give all kinds of interviews over the next couple of days, and I imagine they'll at least mention when they're set to go back in the writers' room (which is hopefully already happening)/into production, etc, so maybe we'll find out soon.

Let this be a lesson, if your spouse is worried about an eventual jail sentence then you should care at least a little bit.

That was the perfect ending. I thought they were setting the entire season up for the siblings to finally come together to kill Logan. And they did, only to be ruined by Tom.

I'm so glad we're not going to enter Season 4 still wondering which kid is going to take over.

Was really hoping for a "I just want you to know it was me" moment just to plunge the knife all the way, but damn that was a fantastic ending.

So who is con's mom? I thought it was weird a few episodes ago when Kendall was referred as the oldest then I was like, ok they have different moms...but why was that revealed this season?
