It's going to be close. The problem is that IW is going to be released digitally next month.

From Jun 15-17 it made 3.5 M foreign. It probably did around 5 M the full week. The full #s aren't reported (on mojo) for last weekend, but it looks like it'll fall short of the 37 M it needs. It also will fall short of Black Panther domestically which I am sure no one expected before the releases.
Need to give Black Panther another chance here this weekend. I thought it was entertaining, but meh.

There's a (small) chance it gets a little boost when Ant-Man comes out, like BP did when IW released. They're less related, but maybe some will say "I want to see Ant-Man but I still haven't seen the last one."
somehow i don't think Feige is losing any sleep over IW (which has made $670mil domestic and over $2bil global) not quite catching another of his properties in domestic box office.
IW was a huge financial success and that shouldn't be diminished because Black Panther was too, even if it was unexpected.

Did they count the 18(?) movie marathon towards IW?

I think this was talked about last page... about earth not knowing who Tanos is... or wondering why people they knew just finished to dust.... most all religions have a judgement day/rapture right? What if that's what people thought happen? I only say that because I'm watching this is the end... the James Franco comedy... and that's what happens, like people get zapped up to have in blue beams, or get stuck on earth... I feel like that's what would people would think if people just started disappearing... Who knows... debate...

Just saw this movie a second time. One line caught my attention, apologies if it's been addressed. While obtaining the soul stone, Thanos says something like "I ignored my destiny once before, I won't do that again". Might not have been the word destiny. Was he just referencing Titan?

Finally saw this on Tuesday. Theater was completely full. I got there late and actually had to sit in the handicap spot because there were no other seats.
Infinity War is about 26 million away from over taking Black Panther's domestic gross for 3rd all time. It's also 31 million from TFA world wide gross.
Found a cheap theater showing Infinity War today. Definitely curious to see how the turn out is.

Goes to show how much of a monster both TFA and Black Panther were. Competition played into both successes (neither had to go against the back to back weeks of the likes of Deadpool or Solo like Infinity War) but it's still a fantastic box office run for Infinity War.
Now to see how Avengers 4 does. I think it makes more, but who really knows.
it will happen with the re-release next year before Avengers 4.... but that would make it an "*".
