What sucks for Mike is that he sacrificed $15,000 (he was offered $50K to kill Tuco, he took $35K to get Tuco arrested) and voluntarily took a brutal beating in order to avoid getting mixed up with the Mexican cartel. Nevertheless, here he is trying to enjoy a nice meal at the local diner (or Denny's or whatever) when the Mexican cartel walks in and forces him to cop to a gun charge when the gun wasn't his. What kind of a job do you think Mike will be able to get with a gun charge on his record? He's definitely getting fired from the one he has currently. And that $5k from the Cartel is so low it's offensive.
Cartel probably thinks he is truly a doddering old grandpa and that $5000 is a ton of money for him.

I think y'all need to give these writers more credit on these Jimmy and Kim stories.

I think Kim is reasonably attractive for someone in her mid 40's. Not hot, but not too shabby either. That said, she has a bit of a Seinfeld Two Face to me. In some scenes in the right light and when her makeup is working, she looks good. Other times, not so much.

Last night's episode was terrible boring IMO. If this show is going to survive on keeping viewers coming back just to see which BB character will appear next it's in trouble.

Agreed. Just watched the episode. Super boring and uninteresting.

At this point, the ONLY thing that's interesting is Mikes situation. He's making the show go right now.

Hope it picks up soon

Great series but boring episode. Some of you guys are acting like it's impossible to like the series but hate an episode.

It happens. Not every episode of a series is going to knock everyone's socks off. BrBa had it's misses here and there and I expect to be the same here.

Hope they get it back on track and keep it going.

Exactly. Think of "the fly" episode on BB. Terrible episode, but BB is my favorite show of all time

When Chuck and his wife were in bed after their dinner with Jimmy and Chuck finally tried telling a lawyer joke (which the wife obviously didn't get, to his disappointment), my insightful wife said "he's jealous of Jimmy."

I bet Chuck was the nerdy, straight A student with no friends. Jimmy was the popular younger brother who couldn't give an ish and THAT's Chuck's problem, at his core.

Very true. Chuck almost seemed a bit aspergerish.

Mike should win an Emmy for the last 5 seconds of that episode alone. His face when Tio leaves was incredible.

Many attorneys have that trait, particularly the gunner types.

So I just caught up and haven't read the thread so I apologize if this has been addressed....

How the **** is Kim being punished for the commercial?

Why would they call Howard abot something their attorney did?

It's a huge plot hole for me.

Howard vouched for Charlie Hustle.

And?
DannyDuberstein
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Exactly. It's not so much that she didn't tell anyone (even though that's what he says). It's that Kim convinced Howard to vouch for Jimmy to D&M and now he stepped on his **** there - making Howard look bad.

Yep. Guilt by association.

pretty much that. they both consider themselves prestigious lawfirms and he aired an ambulance chaser type commercial without their approval. his actions made the big dog at davis and main look like a fool and sheet rolls down hill. main explodes on howard, who has no idea, so he feels pantsed, and again, sheet rolls downhill and that is how you get in doc review.

i also think there is some ambiguity to it

- is howard punishing her worse because he wants to bang her and is mad she is with jimmy?
- or maybe howard is her mentor, considers her special talent, and finds her choice to date jimmy to be the kind of error in judgement (compounded by her knowing about the ad) that shows she needs extra punishment compared to some other lawyer
- how does brother mcgill fit in here? was he playing her straight or manipulating her during their convo about their dad in cicero? i thought it was maybe a little of both.

"How could you let this commercial happen without telling someone?" really means "How could you let this ALL happen?"

Has anyone mentioned how Kim was exposed as a booze hound??

"Yes, we met at happy hour."

I find it interesting that D&M aren't refusing the clients gained by the commercial.

That doesn't make her a booze hound, just a normal young lawyer networking the way young lawyers do. On second thought maybe she is, but it's normal.

Man, you guys were harsh on this episode. It was a bit slower than the rest of this season but every series in the world will have slower episodes.

Absolutely loved the last scene though. As soon as we heard the DING, I knew who was walking in the door.

It'll be interesting to see how Mike proceeds. And I definitely think Gus will come into the picture sooner than later. Maybe the season finale.

It just seemed like a high % of responses were about booze. ANd she and Jimmy partake, with the tequila scam as an example.

As for lawyers drinking around other lawyers ... even they can't hang around them without the aid of alcohol.

I'm not a lawyer, but friends who went to big firms straight out of law school were obligated to go to a ton of functions and mixers during their first couple years.

Any professional worth a damn would be going to social events and networking their ass off coming out of school. Considering that the show is set around 2002, LinkedIn launched in 2003 and Facebook in 2004, and neither were widely used at the time. Y'all do remember there was once a time where if you wanted to talk to someone, you actually had to be face-to-face and physically talk to them, right?

I liked the episode. Chuck's character would likely qualify as PDD NOS and now just delusional and agrophobic. I'm interested to see what triggered that change something with his wife I'm sure. He is definitely jealous of Jimmy's charm and natural way with people.
