Hopefully it isn't just me, but I feel like this show has a definite chance to be one of the best of all time. Vince Gilligan is an absolute genius.

It definitely gets the "godfather 2" benefit in that the original created a world for you to live in.
I'll agree with vince that they loved Saul so much to do a show around, but now they like McGill more.
This show without breaking bad goes nowhere so as long as we acknowledge that, then I'm OK with the proclamations.
Having the context of bb helps make this show so good

How did Howard know that Kim had seen a copy of the commercial before it aired?
I love the foreshadowing on this show. We all know where this story is headed and the little hints and glimpses into Jimmy's/Saul's future are great.
For instance, Jimmy told Chuck that if he'd set things right for Kim, Jimmy would "quit the law for good. No more Jimmy McGill esquire. Poof. Like he never even existed."
And all the references to Jimmy only caring about the ends instead of the means...only caring if it works and not caring how it looks...loving cheesy commercials...always breaking the rules...always doing whatever he wants...lying and cheating to win.

Wonder if that was the mistake.
Rewatched that part of BB recently (season 3, half measures). Not this circumstance, it was when Mike was still a beat cop. Someone was beating their wife and Mike put a gun in his mouth as a warning to not do it againow and the dude killed her later.

Guess I need to re watch that scene. Thought that he knew without having to ask. Still, wonder why she didn't just lie or why Howard would have thought she saw it already.
The last thing she's going to do is lie about not seeing the video.

Mike pulls out the gun when he sees the HEADLIGHTS IN THE REARVIEW. when he realizes it is a paper delivery, he uts it away. he 100% knows his DIL is trying to extort him. you clearly see it in his expressions.
Tonights episode was fantastic, BTW.
You can tell the difference in his facial expressions between where he knows she's trying to extort him and where he thinks that she thinks the paper was gun shots ? Ok then
I think his expression can just as easily be read that he realizes she's paranoid and delusional. That was my first reaction when I saw it.
That secretary with slightly graying hair at the Santa Fe law firm seems familiar, what else has she been in?

He pulled the gun because of headlights but he put it away because of the newspapers. I think she's paranoid and heard the newspapers as gunshots. And I think that's what mike thought too.

If mike thought she was extorting him then why would he take this most recent job ? Yes he has a soft spot for his grandkid and maybe that's resvoled soon. But I think he realizes this chick is crazy and he needs to help out (take a beating).
