When Saul's car was parked and he was watching the inflatable guy - where he got the idea for the colorful suits - is it possible he was at the car wash that Walt later bought?? The camera only caught a little of the trim, but it was that same dark wood and I'm assuming it was in ABQ . . . but I could be wrong.

Definitely possible.

Wondered the same thing, but not sure the street was the same.

As for the skimming, it really goes back to how Chuck sees stuff vs how Jimmy sees stuff. To Chuck, Dad was a saint and Jimmy caused the store to go belly up. To Jimmy, Dad was a doormat and that's why the store went belly up. Jimmy took the money and they have different views on the impact.

I wouldn't be surprised if yes, Jimmy took a little from time to time, but the majority of the missing $$ was from Dad having a soft heart. Chuck might have caught Jimmy pilfering a little, and just falsely accused Jimmy of taking the whole thing.

When he doesn't know you're stealing. Dad gave the bum $10. The bum gave Jimmy $8 for 2 cartons of cigarettes. He didn't know about either so...
He probably did it out of spite the first time, pissed at his dad for not listening to him, then it became a habit. I get it. I just wouldn't do it.

And if Chuck lives in such a black and white world, how did Jimmy see colors? They are brothers. Did chuck refuse to see it? Did he deny his dad was a target for con artist?
If dad had been keeping up with his inventory long before Chuck came home from school to look at the books, Jimmy would have been caught early enough.

Agent Schrader and Agent Gomez just "happening" to show up on set. I'm sure they were just bored.

It happens. The only thing my brother and I have in common is our parents.

Great episode! Big step forward without just flipping the switch to Saul. Perfectly done.

And now the big issue...We can now say Mike knows he's getting scammed right?

C'mon. That look on his face as his DIL was hugging him was a dead giveaway. He knows he being taken advantage of but also knows because of what happened he's got no leverage to call her out on it so he just goes along with it.

He's known he's being scammed for a while. The reason why he helps his DiL is so his granddaughter can have a better life.

Yes. it's fairly simple.

He still feels the guilt for leading his son down the path that wound up getting him killed and leaving his DIL and granddaughter without a father. Therefore he vowed to do whatever is necessary to provide for them and make sure they have as good of a life as possible. Of course he knows she's pushing him for more and more, but it's the debt he has to pay for the guilt he still has for what happened to his son.

Pretty standard here. Not reinventing the wheel. Just solid writing and acting.

I think people might be starting to read too much into things.

Jimmy as a boy learned to either be a wolf or a sheep. He decided at that point to be a wolf...even if it was at the expense of family members who are sheep. It was the background for the episode. It's why he gave up a great job at an esteemed law firm, and it's why he had to be honest with Kim about being a 'colorful' lawyer. He's got to get back to being himself. If it turned out he was secretly a saint, it would be completely out of character.

Jimmy isnt the one doing the wrong things for the right reason...that's Mike.

I dont think Mike is being scammed. He's fully aware of her situation, and that she's taking advantage...but he vowed to step into his son's role and provide for them. I dont think his face was displeasure in helping her (or him being upset with her) but he knows what he's going to have to do to get the $$. He's about to do the wrong things for the right reason.

The Jimmy/Mike talk outside the elevator was funny.

I'd almost forgotten about Tuco and Jimmy's situation. That seemed like a long time ago.

I found it odd that Mike was so crass to Jimmy. You'd think he'd want to be in Jimmy's good graces since his new life might require legal services from time to time.

In the podcast, they mentioned that the flashback to the Jimmy stealing from his Dad was actually filmed for season one. They put a ton of effort to stock the shelves with only time appropriate merch and all that... and then they decided the episode was too full and had to make a hard cut and not use that whole scene... but were very pleased to find a home for it in this episode.

Did anyone see the numbers on the cash register? 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

Also, why did his dad have to open the hatch to go get the spark plugs?

Will those come into play?

Mike knows that Jimmy will always be available as long as Mike has money to pay him.

Lawyers are typically seen as barely tolerable necessary evils to clients.

Jimmy did that for free as he said....no charge.

yes Mike doesn't want to owe Jimmy any favors...so he wants to pay him. But Jimmy was willing to do it for free. My point was Jimmy I think already sees future business from knowing and helping Mike and being on the good side of him.
