Tip your cap. Thank Breggy for all he's done, and wish him well.
He's accomplished more than hundreds of other MLB players. It's a shame it didn't work out for him to come back, but I'm not going to be mad he is chasing the cash. I'd do the same in his position. At this point, it has to be more than about baseball.

So what's the price on immortality? If Bregman stayed here at a discount and retired and Astro, he has a statue outside the park with Altuve
Really hope he gets a huge bag somewhere, but feels like he misplayed this.
He was pissed because I was the 4th best pitcher on the '92 Astros.Jackal99 said:texasaggie2015 said:
I'm probably one of the very few people who love Joe West.
When I was in radio, he came on my show and was the coolest guy ever. He called me the next day while he was having an airport beer to ask how it went and shot the **** with me for maybe a half hour.
That's better than that one dude's story about pissing off Scott Servais with the first pitch. Or some such **** .

if i was a free agent, I'd always have a really dumb reason for picking a team to tell the media. Like if I was Burnes, I would say the state of Arizona's refusal to be a pawn in the government's daylight savings scheme was my reason for signing there.
The industry agreed. Adam Wainwright is the best thirties comp for Corbin Burnes.

Burnes has full no-trade clause through 2026 when he can opt out of contract. If he stays, he can block trades to 14 teams for final four years. https://t.co/iCCIrNv1Kh

Corbin Burnes could have signed a 7-year, $250 million deal with an AL East team with no opt out; but decided to stay home in Arizona for the 6-year, $210 million deal with an opt out after 2026.

The BlueJays seem to lose out on every big-name free agent. They need to do all they can to lock up Vladdy and Bo.

I was curious and just looked. The Canadian tax rate is basically the same as the California state income tax for wages that baseball players would be earning.
It's surprising the Jays haven't latched on to the deferred money contracts like the Dodgers have in an effort to avoid taxes.Mathguy64 said:Mr.Bond said:Farmer1906 said:The Blue Jays were the highest bidder for both Burnes and Teoscar Hernandez today

Confirmed: The Mets offered Pete Alonso 3Y/$90M; but Alonso is looking for about $175M-$200M.

He and Breggy I think are the two remaining boras clients. The broke brothers will end up playing for cheap this year
