"People say 'Well, just make him a reliever.' That's not an easy thing to do ... It's not a fallback position. It's doing a disservice to the guys who are in that role. It's very specific and very hard ... Pitching back-to-back or three out of four, for me, is physically harder." https://t.co/5iWaH1htP5

Might be somebody in the DR looking for a "courtesy tax" to make it happen.Hornbeck said:EastCoastAgNc said:Rafael Montero is having visa issues and not yet in camp. Joe Espada expects him here in the next couple days

Astros don't have people for that?

Arenado had the best year of his career 2022. All-Star 2023. Still elite with the glove.
Put him in a better park on a squad that wants to win- he could be primed for a bounce-back.
I think he makes our team better.
Jim Crane never signed any sign stealing participant to a new contract after November 2019 when the story broke.

He’s rid of them all.
Regarding some of the young position players already in camp, Brice Matthews will be the Astros' Grapefruit League Opening Day second baseman. Zach Dezenzo will get run in both left field and right field. Cam Smith will primarily play third in spring, but will get OF time, too

I am hopeful that this off-season has seen Crane cured of the urge to step in and make big deals happen by himself. We made good moves and didn't overpay for anybody. Hopefully I am not jinxing us by saying this right before Crane announces he traded for Arenado and gave him a big extension.Ag_07 said:
Eh...I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Springer was never an option to resign and Carlos and Bregs wanted way more than they're worth and he wasn't going to accommodate the opt outs they wanted on the short term deals.
Not sure what happened there, looking into it. But my bad!
