That's the astros uniform I grew up with. Gotta have more of the blue and gold.

With this uniform discussion; I hope everyone is preparing themselves. All of these special edition hats etc that have come out recently are in preparation for the abomination that will be our next city connect uniform.
We're going to go from one of the better options that was made across the league and a true connection to the city to "H-Tine"

This Gerrit Cole situation is like when George Costanza quit his job and then went in the next day and pretended it was all a joke

Call your shot.
1. What does Breggy sign for?
2. What do you think is a fair / reasonable contract in your opinion?
I don't know where I saw this, but we should trade Pressly to the Tibetan League for a yak.07ag said:Dekker_Lentz said:

"The Athletic's Jim Bowden predicts Bregman resigns for 7 years, $185m."
I don't see how Bregman returns value in this kind of deal. I think to make it, you half to believe some of the following will be true:
1. You win a World Series in 2-4 years
2. You think Bregman will be a good mentor to young players in the rebuild in the back portion of the contract.
3. You think you can unload this contract in the future.
3 seems very unlikely.
2 is pretty likely.
1 is possible.
But I don't know if you can win a WS trying to find a new 3B, CF, and 1B. Bregman does seem like the best option at 3B for the Astros.
The Orioles and Astros are interesting trading partners. Both seem to have pieces for a WS, but defects in their roster. It will be interesting if both teams can make a deal that improves each of their odds.
Will be an interesting offseason.
Trade Pressly for mountcastle

I also think it's possible that if we do keep Alex that eventually down the line he could transition to second base to replace Altuve if his arm is not what it wants was, or he could eventually work on first base in the later years of his contract
Willy Adames to Giants feels like a lock. 1st Offseason for Buster Posey as President of Baseball Ops. Expect he works with familiar faces. Posey's longtime representatives were CAA Baseball. Same group representing Adames. Plus, SS is a glaring need & shifts Fitzgerald to 2B.

Astros GM Dana Brown told me he’ll speak today with Justin Verlander’s agent, Mark Pieper, about a possible free-agent contract. @MLBNetwork
— Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) November 5, 2024
Dana Brown said he has had "productive" conversations with Scott Boras regarding Alex Bregman. Brown declined to say whether a formal offer was made, but added “our biggest priority is third base, without a doubt. We’d love to have Alex Bregman back. It’s our biggest priority"
