Was amazing to see Charles Jenkins teabag an entire franchise tonight. Put up Ginobili type numbers....17, 5, 8. Call the HOF.

I really dgaf about the HOF, but the argument for Manu is that it's the basketball HOF, not NBA HOF. Thus, his leading Argentina to Olympic gold bolsters his case.

After the Lakers help the Spurs by beating OKC today, the Spurs will be able to lock this #1 seed up with a win tonight against Cleveland and then one more win out of their 3 remaining games.

Nah, even Laker fans can't stand him. Something about smelling like salsa and cat urine.

The problem is that I think the Thunder are flat out better than the Lakers. They have enough size to bang with Bynum and Gasol and their outside scoring ability > > > > LA's

OKC might run away with this one, and without World Peace and needing to rest Kobe before the playoffs, the Lakers might lose out to end the year. That would definitely drop them to #4.

The Spurs should be able to basically choose their 2nd round opponent. LAL/MEM or LAC.
aggie_2001_2005

Well, the very bright side of the LAL v OKC game is that the Spurs now need only to beat CLE and POR at home to lock up the 1 seed. Then they can leave the big 3 at home on the trip out west.

Can they call up Joseph to drain minutes on the road trip? Not sure how that works.

Thanks Lakers.

Spurs need to finish 2-2 to lock up the #1 seed, which should be a piece of cake with this schedule:
Clev
Portland
@Pho
@GS

That would make OKC the #2
LA is all but guaranteed the #3
Memphis and the Clippers are your 4/5

This is literally the best case for SA

If the Clips can beat the Griz, it'd be pop v DelNegro in round 2 while OKC and LA have a grudge match fight to the death.

It's fate dudes!

I wonder if we will try and win both with everyone at full strength at home. Or if we are going to rest players tomorrow night. It will be interesting to see our strategy.
sharkenleo

Clips taking out Grizzlies would be huge.

Now just gotta worry about only one of OKC/LAL.
sharkenleo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
And we no longer have to worry about facing Dallas in round 1 either.

The Lakers will overtake SA for the lead in the West by Wednesday!

What the Spurs REALLY need is this:

1. Spurs
2. Thunder
3. Lakers
4. Clippers
5. Nuggets
6. Grizzlies
7. Mavs
8. Suns

Currently it's:

(1)Spurs
(8)Jazz
vs.
(4)Clippers
(5)Grizzlies
-------------
(2)Thunder
(7)Mavs
vs.
(3)Lakers
(6)Nuggets

The Spurs will still have to face either the Clippers and the Grizzlies.

They really needed the Lakers to lose so that the Grizz could climb to #3 and be on the other side of the bracket.

Eh, don't want to see the Lakers either. This is about as good as we could have hoped for. Also, the Clippers went 2-1 against the Grizz this year. It's not a given that the Spurs will have to play the Grizz in round 2, especially if the Clippers can hang on to the #4 and have homecourt against Memphis

Suns
Clippers
Thunder (after a tiring serious against the Lakers)

Home court all the way through. That's as good as we could have hoped for
Simplebay
How long do you want to ignore this user?
i don't understand how you can be ecstatic to possibly see the Clippers.

The biggest advantage the Spurs have against other teams (on the court), is actually an advantage the favors the Clippers in that matchup.

on the plus side, Pop would coach circles around del negro.

Um, no.

We needed them to do exactly what they did. Thanks for the help tonight.
Simplebay
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Um, yes.

The Spurs couldve still got the #1 seed and had memphis rise to #3. This wouldve been best case for the Spurs. Lakers just ruined that. Now SA has to play a team it matches up terribly against in the senond round.
sharkenleo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
We match up worse against the Lakers than Memphis.

Not too terribly worried about the Grizz, if they even beat the Clippers.

All is well tonight.

With Gasol and ZBo not at 100%, Memphis doesn't scare me. Gasol has averaged 10.9 and 6.6 in 32mpg in April. He averaged 15 and 11 in the playoffs last year.

ZBo has only topped 30 minutes once this year and is averaging 10.4 and 8.5 in April. He averaged 22/11 in the playoffs last year.

I'd much rather play the Clippers than the Kobes.

Griffin can't score when he isn't dunking.
Jordan can't score.
Billups is done for the season.
Paul is fantastic, but is overrated on defense. He loses out by going for the steal and counting on DJ to cover for him too often.

I would rather play two of:
LAC, Memphis, Utah, Phoenix than one of LA, OKC, Dallas, Denver. No question at all.

Give me the team with Kenyon Martin as my opponent in the playoffs every time.

You are forgetting last yeat arent you. And the Grizz are even better this year
sharkenleo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
And we're a hell of a lot better. And deeper. And healthier.
Guitarsoup
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm not forgetting last year. The Grizz aren't as good as they were. Zack Randolph isn't the ZBo we saw last year. Beast Mode unavailable.

Simple, there are 3 teams I don't want to see in the playoffs (because of their big men): Lakers, Grizz, Clippers. Avoiding all of them was pretty much a pipe dream so it comes down to which of those is the least threatening. That's the Clippers. They're poorly coached and their bigs are still very raw. Yea Blake can throw down super dunks, but he's got few post moves and he'll get flummoxed by good help D (which the Spurs can bring).

Pop's made a living kicking teams like the Clipps out of the playoffs
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The Spurs will run the Clippers out of the gym. This series reminds me of the Spurs-Phoenix series back in the days of Amare and Nash.

A very ignorant statement. The Spurs KNEW that they were in trouble last year against the Griz. Matter of fact, the Griz even tanked a few games to get the Spurs in the 1st round. Plus, this Spurs' team and heads above last year's team, if they stay healthy.

The Spurs will sleepwalk to the WCF. The Thunder probably will too though, so getting to the Finals will not be a gimme.
discobrob
How long do you want to ignore this user?
If Manu starts scoring like he used to, watch out.
sharkenleo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I wouldn't say sleepwalk, but if things shake out like they look they will, they are basically in the WCF. Clippers or Grizzlies won't beat the Spurs 4 times.
agwin12

Starting to pull away now.
