He has been a lot better since the Mavs won a title, but I seem to recall him being one of the more over-the-top people before that.

You don't think winning a title carries more weight than flaming out every year in the playoffs? Go read any Mavs thread from last year and see how excited we were to watch another top 3 regular season team. Only titles matter.
quote:I said the Spurs have underachieved in the playoffs the past 4 years, which is typical by a reigning dynasty's standards or when you lose to a lower seeded team. You guys took it and ran from there. I guarantee you the Lakers or Celtics wouldn't have been happy going 4 years without a Finals appearance during their reigns.
Hey Internet... you usually post worthwhile stuff on this board.
What gives? You come on a Spurs thread, talk crap about us under performing the last couple years then get super defensive.
quote:Yeah, dude thanks for making my point again for me.
Being a mavs fan, you'd know quite a bit about flaming out in the playoffs, wouldn't you? But since only titles matter, 4-0 in the Finals trumps 1-1 in the Finals any day of the week.

who didn't love jordan (and the bulls) when they were a kid?
quote:Winning that first title makes all the difference. When the late 90s Spurs/00s Mavericks went into the playoffs it was more of a dreadful feeling - "yeah that regular season was great but how will they blow it this year? " Once you get that first title then you are confident knowing that the core of the team knows how to win.
At the end of the year, losing sucks and you are only truly happy when you see your team hoist the trophy. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the hell outta watching the spurs play at the highest level every season.

If the Celts win tonight we would have HCA against the Heat in the finals no matter the outcome of our final two games.
