Great night for the idle Spurs with losses by Thunder, Lakers, Grizzlies and Clips.
Diaw is being bought out by the Bobcats. Lots of speculation about him coming to SA as he and Parker are best friends. Wouldn't be a terrible addition.
Spurs really need another big and Diaw would be a good fit. Blair needs to be replaced in the SL.
Rough stretch coming up. 6 games in 8 days, with a back to back to back followed by another back to back. No way in hell Pop gives Timmy and Tony many minutes in some of those games.
Seeing as we have the Hornets on Saturday sandwiched between the Mavs and Sixers, my guess is Pop will either not play them very much, or rest Timmy altogether. Will be an interesting stretch to be sure.

Spurs are obviously pretty desperate. he's averaging career lows in points and FG%. dude also needs the ball in his hands, averaging 8 shots per game.
His PER is only 10.95, and he's a 6'8" overweight PF who doesnt rebound and stands at the 3pt line. How can he and matt bonner both have the green light?
i don't see this helping the spurs much. not sure what they're thinking here.

The Spurs desperately need another big body. He has familiarity with both Tony and Jax. He's not a bad post defender either. He can make the mid range jump shot and can spread the floor beyond the arc. If he can give us a good 10-15 mins a game, I think it will be a plus.

Diaw definitely put on some pounds but he isn't out of shape. Parker will be the first to tell you that. They both played this summer with France.
I wouldn't get too caught up on his #s this year either. He wasn't very motivated to say the least in Charlotte. If he can get his mind right and get motivated to play for a ring than this could be a great signing. Spurs need another big body to help down low and his defense can't be any worse than Bonner and Blairs. He is also a very capable player on the offensive end and it one of the best passing big men in the game. Match that skill the Duncan who is another exceptional passer and you have a great offense with no ball stoppers. He has also shown he can play in the playoffs which is big for this roster seeing that Bonners #s statistically plummet once the bright lights turn on.
Hope they can get this guy.

Please don't get in to this because you don't know what you are talking about. Just because RJ could be amnestied doesn't mean the Spurs wouldn't have to pay him. The Spurs saved 12 million in their eyes. Plus, an expiring contract worth 9m/yr is very valuable in the NBA and easy to move.
