Go through the FITA license training. It takes about 15 minutes, but you'll learn the game quickly and get a handy sum of money when you finish.

You'll start to get it after a few weeks, no worries

I'm off to a bit of a slow start in Div 4, 2-2 thus far which included a shellacking at home that kinda ticked me off. I've got a couple 16*-17* rated youth guys rapidly developing, however, and i've got another 13*-14* FC i'm going to be selling off once he hits a TrExMa of about 50 (which should be within about 6 weeks), an 18 year old striker with those skills should fund either a fairly high level keeper or a skilled young DC.

jeff, is a virtual league different than a friendly league?

The way I understand it is that a friendly league is just a group of teams that play against each other on occasion as the teams set up friendly matches against each other.

A virtual league is a group of teams that join, are seeded, and play a tournament-style set of games over the course of several weeks. You have to have Pro to do this.

One of the veterans can probably explain it better than I can.

If it's a decent player, you really have to be logged on and actively bidding when the auction ends. I did not have PRO until recently and this part of the game was a real PITA.

If I have a player that the scouts say is ready for promotion:
1 Do all the teams have access to this guy?
2 Will I still have access to him after Saturday (the next report)?
3 He was put on the report before I had a scout, so I'm not sure how much to trust this recommendation. If #3 is yes, would you go ahead and sign someone with an 11 rating if you didn't have a scout at the time or wait till the next report to see if its accurate, but risk losing him to other teams?

Are you talking about your youth pull?

If so, the accuracy of the rating is directly related to how high a level youth academy you have. The higher the level, the more accurate their assessment. I assume your youth academy is pretty low so an 11 could actually be a 6. Or it could actually be a 17. Or it could actually be an 11.

If you don't sign him now, he'll still be available to you up until the next youth pull on Saturday. But by then, you'll have to make a decision in order to make another youth pull. Also keep in mind that youth players who are pulled but aren't signed continue to age without going through training. Only you have access to players that you pull from your youth academy...no one else can sign them but you.

If your youth academy is still pretty low, I'd go ahead and sign just about every one you pull on the off chance that your initial rating from your youth academy undervalues them. Worst case scenario, they are crap but you only lose out on 200,000 bucks to find that out and that's not a whole lot to risk in this game. When you get a good scout, go ahead and scout the guy to find out how good he really is. Good scouts will give you more accurate ratings than low level youth academies.

Got a win yesterday vs one of my good friends 10 feet away in the dorm.

I sent this out to a few teams on TM today so if you're in D 5 and want to play in a friendly tourney just PM me on Trophy Manager(647264)

I'm looking at setting up a friendly cup between at least 6 teams but hopefully more that are in Division 5 and Texans. Just send a yes back at me by Wednesday April 22nd if you're interested. Also, if you have friends who might be( and are in D5 and Texan) send this along. You don't have to be Pro to join as most of us aren't, we'll set it up through friendly challenges

I think I might have found the right strategy for my team. Just beat the #1 team (who was previously undefeated) in our division. I don't have a goalie or scorers, so I don't think anything will win me a title until I can afford to buy some good players, but maybe I can grab a few extra wins for now.

haha yup, but I'm back down to 2nd with a draw last night, I caved in and went pro, and its pretty cool. I started publishing the Team of the Round for all yall to check out, its a fun lineup of the best players at each position for the day, and its really easy for me to put up

Last night I lost my first league match since midway through last season. Also, my star goalkeeper got injured for four games and my starting forward, who just came back last night after a nine-game injury went down again...this time for three matches.

you just go to the person you want to challenge and click the challenge button next to friendlies under their clubname. then you click home or away and it will say challenge sent and when they accept it will show in your fixtures
