Play my B team and similar score would appear.

I crushed a B team last year in the CUP, but this year I got a Div2 teams B team and he had some top players including goalie. But his F of 120 asi scored. Ugh. Still disappointed.

Forgot to add that I lost my striker for 9 games. Sucks big time.

Mine was one sided, but not that much. Have an actual test this time around, team that has spent 4 seasons now in 4th division, always finishing top 6. Should be interesting.

They are almost like a natural rival, as our theoretical locations are about 10 miles apart.

That's the best thing about being tossed out of the Cup. Normally my roster gets ravaged with injuries as I play on. I didn't get one injury form this Cup!
Danger Mouse
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes, but the downside to getting bounced out of the Cup is the extra coin $$ made.

For my next cup game I drew a team from Div 4 that has been there consistently and made some deep runs into the cup tournament before. I took two key injuries in my last cup game and I am in contention for promotion in my league (sitting on a 3 pt lead over the third place team) and my next game will be against the third place team, and the next several games will be against other top teams. I am tempted just to put a bunch of scrubs on the field so none of my starters get injured. Is this a bad idea?

Not necessarily, injuries do seem to be more frequent in cup matches so if you don't think you've got a real shot it might be worth it to sit some guys.

I put one of my young stud FCs on the TL yesterday and my other one promptly got injured :p Picked up a fill in 35 yr old American FC that I've nicknamed "Wolverine". My two starting strikers tonight will be an average age of 35 and 8 months

Fig how much was he? I could use a guy that scores a bit more.
And I'm horribly desperate for a good DC. Saying my back middle is porous is kind. And 2 of the 3 DCs that I have are 30 now. This sucks. If I don't watch it, I'll be demoted back to Div5!

The guy I have on sale, Netherby, is starting at 10m but I'm hoping he goes for 120m plus. He may be a hair injury prone in the new ME (too early to be sure) so I've decided to part with him and invest the money elsewhere. The 35 yr old was only 12m.

Take a look around on the TL for a 29-32 yr old if you really need a striker, you can find some steals in that range on some really productive players. A player's ASI does drop dramatically as they get older, however, so look for guys that have been playing matches in the current season with good productivity.

Thanks Fig.

I have a question on transferred players.

I you get a guy that's rated 14 from a team that has a poor TG will this lower his ability?
Or will it take him longer to get his stats?
I mean if in my TG he would reach his peak of 5000asi by the time he hits 26, would it just take him til 28 to hit 5000 if he spent some time in a weaker TG? Or would he lose that growth forever?

My reserve team got housed by a division 4 team 5-1. That's been the pattern the last few seasons for them. Win the first game and get destroyed in the second. Makes sense since they are a mid-table at best division 5 team.

Well I won my game 2-0. I lost another player though. I just hope I don't get trounced tonite in my league game.

The 35 year old scored a brace and rated an 8 in my Cup match last night, not too bad for an old guy 4-0 win for me, solid outing with my top striker out.

bones, the scout's rating is the potential they COULD reach, ideally. So if you trained a 14* rated player on a level 10 TG he'd train at a higher TI and thus increase his ASI a lot more than if he trained on a level 1 TG, so in the end he wouldn't be as strong a player. His past training doesn't affect his current TI though, if he went from a low TG to a high one he'd train at whatever TI his rating allowed.

Netherby, for example, my FC for sale, is going to hit about 10k ASI when he ends his bloom at the rate he's training with me, I'm at level 7 TG now and I think pulled him when I was level 3. Had he trained his entire career on a level 10 TG he'd probably have a few thousand more ASI at the end of his bloom. Make sense?

I won my Cup match 5-0, and used some younger players and newly acquired players in the lineup.

My 31 yo newly-acquired striker rated a 10 and had the first goal.

Yea, I guess that makes sense.
Meaning I hosed myself by buying a 14 rated DC from a TG2 team.
Hopefully I can pass the buck in half a season

BTW, every time I get a new player he does well for 1-2 games before sliding back down. Seems weird, like maybe they try harder when they are new to a team. Then they find out where all the local bars are near the stadium after that.

Sousa? I think you're probably ok, looks like he's still in his early bloom or just starting his second bloom season? If so he's still got a lot of time to develop.
aggiebones
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yea Sousa. I think he's OK. I've had a hard time finding a decent DC to develop. I've got 2 now though neither is perfect.

I'm seriously struggling to win games this season. Alot of the same guys from last season, but can't get a win to save my life. Losing to last place team last night hurt me. Not sure I'm doing much different from last season. I've been running a tilted lineup, so that's clearly not working. Very frustrating. I just wanted to stay in Div4 this season, but its gonna be hard unless I hit a hot streak.
I have some talent in the minors, but it won't be ready and I'm likely not going to get any offseason money since I hit no levels. Ugh.
I need to fast forward a season.

Do economy updates use the figures from 0001 that day or from at the time that they run? I have a bunch of money I want to go ahead and spend but I want to get the interest off of the weekly economy update more.

After starting 4-1-3, I've compiled a miserable 0-6-7 record. I don't know what caused the freefall...

Won my Cup match 4-1, with my injury-prone ML getting a hat trick in the 2nd half.

My newly acquired striker has rated 10s in back-to-back Cup matches. Could not have come at a better time.

Although the extra coin is good, I hope not to suffer any additional injuries during these Cup matches.

I lost my starting DR for 9 games 6 matches back, and now just lost my back up DR for another 9 games. I am starting my third string DR and facing a critical time where I am finally getting back into position to climb out of regulation. A win in the next league game should put me out of the dead zone, but it is against a top table team so it will be tough.

Has anyone else not gotten credit on injuries for yesterday's (our time) cup game? I had two players (both starters) that were down to one game who I really want back for my next league game.

Unfortunately, Cup matches do not count against injuries, only League matches.

I'm with CDub: great start then inexplicably go down in flames. I'm only a few spots above relegation! And this is the best team I've ever had!

Are you sure? I could have sworn my injury days were going down with my previous cup games. If you are right though that really sucks, because of my four current injuries only one happened in a league game.
Danger Mouse

Unless things have changed from last season, and I have no information suggesting the opposite, Cup games do not count for injury recovery. Do a search on the TM board, you should find several questions regarding this exact issue.

If my understanding is correct, card bans are reduced by Cup matches whereas injuries are not.

Makes sense if you think about it, missing a Cup match for a card is still missing a match, whereas there's no more physical time between league matches if you're injured whether you play a Cup match or not.
jeffk
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah. Cards reduce by games played while injuries reduce over a set period of time: 3 games is like a week and a half, etc.

Finally! A WIN! My old Striker in his last year as a starter notches a hat trick for a 3-0 win! This puts me firmly in 15th place.

I hate my back up keeper. In the last two games we lost 4-2 and 3-2. In the only other games he was in the net for this season we had a 1-0 win and a 3-0 loss. I am tempted to TL him because his rating is higher than my other keeper and he has a decent ASI. Maybe a 5/6 division team would pay me a few million to pick him up. Any thoughts?
aggiebones
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I've lost another game by 1 pt LATE. Meltdown is coming.
I'm seriously pondering transferring all my talent over age 26 and just going with my youth development until they are ready in a couple season. I have about $40M but will begin losing money each month due to having TG and YD at 8. I think if I transfer high priced players, I could hang on to my facilities and develop a team over a few seasons. I could dump my youth team as well since I won't need it.
I'm clearly dropping down to Div5 next season anyway at the rate I'm going.

Would anyone talk me out of this or does it seem like a decent idea? I hate giving up, but my team is lopsided. I can't buy much and by the time I get some of my youth ready, my good older players will be retiring.

I can't see exactly why I'm not winning 'SOME' games now. Even by accident. lol
My DCs are aging and only moderately OK but good DCs cost a fortune. In the past I've scored OK, so not sure what has happened. I tried going defense and lose 2-1 or 1-0. I tried to open it up and I lose 5-4. Argh.

With a bit of luck, I pulled out a draw versus a team that I had not even scored on before. While not pulling me out of the regulation zone, it did preserve my goal differential. The 12-14 all now have -9 and are within a few points of each other. This bottom feeder race is going to be real interesting as the season comes to a close.

In cup news, I pulled a beatable Div 3 team if I was full strength. But alas, due to my ML being in love with red cards this season (srsly 2 cards both reds wth?) and injuries I fear that it might not go that well. At least I hit targets for the sponsors.

Hey. I am bidding on this great goalie right now. I believe I can get him for pretty cheap but the problem is he is in his first season and his routine is only 1.0.

My question is: How important is routine for a goalie?
Dre_00
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Just my personal opinion but I don't pay attention to routine all that much. I mean all other things equal, then yeah, I look at it. But from what I've heard, the effects of routine don't really kick in till 150 games or so.

Long story short, if you think he's a good goalie, I wouldn't let a low number of games played detract you.
