Match reports aren't going to be ready until around 0345 TM time... just like most days. They've mentioned that the live match viewer isn't working correctly.

Everyone needs to check the announcements page frequently the next few days as there are a bunch of bugs being worked out.

I think we are seeing the results of them stopping their beta run on the new ME too early.

The biggest thing they changed was the match engine... the way games are played and how winners and losers are determined. It was due for an upgrade, and doing that was a pretty big task.

I really do think once the bugs are worked out, the overall playability will improve for those of us who put a little bit of time into the game.

Well, I drew 2-2 away to a team that was in the ML last season. I probably even deserved to win but all-in-all, I'm happy. We'll see if that was a one off or what.

They had the beta running all season. Seems like they should have worked these kinks out.

I hope they don't discard my first League 3 game. A 4-1 win is pretty nice.

Ha, I only had 1,789 attend my first game. Was looking forward to making a purchase but I guess I'll have to wait. For ~8000 fans this was a pretty poor turnout.

Yeah I dont understand the attendance deal. My stadium holds 17,000. For my friendly against CDub I had a turn out of 16990 while for my league match I had ~1700 fans show up. Im also not getting any attendance money from the matches.

Prices tend to be a bit artifically inflated at the beginning of the season as everyone has their bonus cash, hence me selling my young DC/DMC

Definitely can't hurt to look, just don't pay too much because you have the cash.

Denied, you can check him out here. Solid player and rates really well, should be a good player at least through division 4 as he's got a year of bloom left. He rated a 5.70 in div 5 last season for my b-team.

Geo, for me you overpaid, if he were American he'd be worth a lot more but for a foreign player I'd put him around the $50m value.

I did overpay but there are plenty of teams from his country (Romania I think).


CDub, Ive changed my line-up a bit just to see what happens but its still most of my starters in the game. Well see what happens!

This is telling me your goalie must be a lot better than mine (I didn't put in my starters this time as one of them is injured so Im protecting the other one).

It seems the goalie changes the game a lot so maybe Ill spend the 54 million on a good deal for a goalie. Do y'all think this is a good idea?

yes, keepers and strikers are massively important in this game (at least that's what I found with the old ME). I'm assuming the same will be true with this one as well.

I won't lie. My keeper is the sole reason for my success thus far. He's 32 and his stats have started declining. I hope he doesn't leave soon, his backups aren't quite there.

I changed my lineup a bit and used a newly acquired defender.

It seems like my injured players and those with red cards have a life sentence as they have not become active after the league game (which they should have). Another bug I suppose.

Damn it. I was bidding on this guy. I had it at 11 million for the last hour and was somehow outbid by 10 million in the last minutes.

He is 35 but I should have bought him for 22 mil I think even 1 season would have payed off with this guy.

Keepers are HUGE, I credit a large part of my first half failure and second half success last season to getting rid of my old GK and adding my new one. They're pricey though, expect to pay upwards of 70m for a solid keeper (I got a really good deal on my guy at 77m).

I'm currently debating where to upgrade my squad. I'm pretty set at striker (a 27 yr old at 67 trexma and two 19 yr olds at 65 and 59) and keeper and have several good young players in the midfield and coming up at defender. I think I may go after a stud DC to pair with my current starter, we'll see what I can afford after selling my young DC/DMC.

Yea, I have made MANY goalie blunders in only 2 seasons.
-I put my 16000asi goalie on transfer list for too little and only netted 20M for him.
I sold him thinking my 2500asi was pretty good. Well he was for Div5. But my 16000 asi guy was doing more for me than I realized. So I stunk early last season in Div4.
-I got a cheap 33yr old 6500asi guy with some decent history. He came in and did well enough to avoid relegation and had a 6 average rating. So I opted to sell him for fear of him retiring, hoping I'd get someone better in end of season keeper dumpings like mine. Dumb.
Never transfer a guy giving you a rating of 6 unless you ALREADY have a better option.
-At the end of last season, I was really scrambling to get a guy for now. I ended up with essentially a similar guy, 33, slightly better numbers and was one of the last guys sold last season. And I have no idea how he'll fair in USA Div4. Fingers crossed that I learned a lesson without being hammered too much. I lost about $5M on the deal for this slightly 'better' player.
I've done pretty well on field players, but I've been lord of the idiots regarding keeper decisions. Not a place to make mistakes.

(I've got a good looking 17 yr old that I'm hoping will develop for me, which is why I haven't gone for a really good young player)

Yeah, general rule...don't sell old players who are performing for you just because you are afraid of them retiring and getting nothing. Even if you sell them, you aren't going to get much for them. Chances are, what you get isn't going to be equal to the value of a consistent 6 rating for you. I only sell old players if they are sucking or if I have a younger, better option.

And that's also a good way to pick up some good talent cheap, keep an eye out for older players who still have great match ratings.

Question on boosting:
Do all players(regardless of boosting or not) have a dip in TI when they hit 19 or 20 and how big is the drop?
I have a player just hit 19yr. His TI dropped from 11ish to 6ish. He was boosting, I think when I got him at 17 yrs old. I'm just curious if he's done or I have another season of boosting at TI of 6. How significant is the TI drop after boosting?

Yes, I know he sucks. He was my first pull and was a rating of 7 from YD (which was YD1 at the time). I'm just using him as a learning tool now. But if its clear he's done boosting then my learning is over and I'll cut him.

All players' TI drops at age 19 regardless of whether they are blooming or not. That's because all players under the age of 19 essentially get double the training in physical attributes during that time.

Hard to say if he was blooming or not, if he's only a rated a 7* he may have been. Does he scout as an early, normal, or late bloomer?

Yeah, if your scouts are reasonable and all of them said that he is a normal or late bloomer, then I'd say he hasn't started to bloom. Otherwise, I'd say he's done blooming.

Yea, I've had a few scouts on him, so I think he was blooming. I just wasn't sure if the drop from 11 to 6 was due to hitting 19 or ending his bloom. If his bloom was over, would he even stay at 6 for TI? Wouldn't it be more like 1-2?

He's probably still blooming, hence the TI of 6. Some very highly rated players can have a rather high post-bloom TI, however, my 16*/17* rated striker has been in the 3-5 TI range immediately post-bloom.

Got a problem.

In my game tonite my team was card happy and my stud DC picked up a straight red (on top of a yellow). Right now I am second in my group (which doesn't matter since it is so early), but I play the group leader in the next round at his place.

I wouldn't be so concerned but he has put together 8 goals so far and has been relegated from 4th Division. I am running a 4-3-2-1, and to keep running it I will have to substitute in a 43.8 playing out of position as the other DC.

Do I not worry about it and just hope that when he comes to my place my stud OMC, and the DCs are healthy and eligible? Or do I change my formation to a 3-2-3-2 in hopes of maintaining the overall strength of my backline against what at a glance looks like a very potent offense?
