Well I relinquished my hold on my league lead after five games. I got my now number 2 DC back, and it doesn't appear I lost anyone tonite.
Also, I too am having a hard time seeing much of anything from tonite's game.

Danger, try the fetal position tactic.
Use a 5 member back line plus a DML, DMR and 2 DMCs.
Then put in an all out defensive tactic.
Put in 2 strikers up top and use direct counter. Maybe you get luck and pop one in. I'm curious if something like this would keep it close or cause a real blowout like in real life.
I may try something similar tonight.

I'm pretty alone in second place, far behind league leader this season. I have a decent lead over 3rd, but I always collapse over the last week of the season, so I have to account for that. Though the rest of my team is growing nicely, my keeper is in a deep decline. I hope he holds on for this season. If I make Div3, I will gut all my veterans and likely be the worst D3 team ever. lol
We clearly are not ready. My youth needs another full season.

denied, there were some site issues, it wasn't just you.
And agreed tactically, I'd prob go 4-3-2-1 myself. I played Philly Whitehawks two seasons back in the Cup (ML team) and had I not lost both my keepers in that match it would've been reasonably close. I still only lost 3-0 (I think).

Lost my Cup match to Wenger's Arsenal 1-0 in extra time.
I ended up using an ultra defensive 4-3-2-1 lineup which almost worked to perfection. Although Wenger's Arsenal controlled possession 55% to 45%, we outshot them 17 shots (11 on target) to 10 (7 on target).
I suffered no injuries so I cannot complain as we had a legit shot to win this match.

I actually lit up the 500k ASI div 4 team I played 3-0. My striker Sanderson had a hattrick, after a quiet first half of the season he has 7 goals in his last 3 matches (league and Cup) not to mention another hattrick in a quickmatch last night.
Kid is eating his Wheaties.

So it looks like yet another bug-riddled server move for TM. Unfortunately I bought a player during this madness and was charged twice for the transfer, sending me deep, deep in debt. Some teams have it even worse, getting charged anywhere from 4-6 times and ending up nearly a billion in debt.
On the other end of the scale, supposedly several teams have had crazy youth pulls of 6-7 youths. Of course since I have a negative balance I am unable to pull today and see for myself. Anybody got any stories about multiple great youth pulls?

My team is currently tied for 1st in my group after 19 games, but last week i lost my cup match to a div 4 side 0-6. And i went into that game playing a defensive 4-5-1. Ouch.
I'm pretty new to the game and have a question:
On the login screen there's a screenshot that shows different formations and how strong/weak you would be in each.
Is that screen still available and if so how do you get to it?

Can anybody give me any insight into running a deficit?
I am thinking about upgrading my TG to lvl 7 but would start running a weekly deficit and would run out of money before I got my next sponsor money putting me in debt. I'd wait too. If even for a couple weeks. I'm gonna barely make it through this season with sponsor money at TG9, YD7. I have like 8500 fans and 19000 stadium. Don't hit a deficit unless you absolutely have to. Its not worth it for a couple extra weeks.
Thinice, I don't recall it, but there are programs that will show you this. But not in the game itself. If you can load trexma, it is a good one. I can't, so I can't help you further.

Damn youre in div 4 with your TG and YA that high?

If you go into debt instead of getting interest you pay interest each week.
My YD at 7 has been pretty decent, but any money I make from YD in the near future was made at much lower levels oddly enough.

I'm right smack dab in mid-table. Not going to get relegated but not going to get promoted either. Only drama for me this season is whether I'll finish in top half to get my league bonus and how far I can go in the USOC.
The good news is that I have a decent amount of money for the NT sale and I should be able to pick up either a OML or F. Once I do that, my team will be under 30 at every starting position but 2 and the ones that are over 30 have quality youngsters that are blooming now and should be ready to replace them when they near retirement.

Well I am sitting in 3rd in my group. I am 7 points out of first (just beat them yesterday), two out of second (still to play), and one clear of fourth.
The 2nd place team (who I am 2-1 all time against) still has to play me, the number 4, and 5 teams in our group.

Moral of the story: have an actual backup defender for when your 70 trexma centerback goes down in 35th minute.

Well, I have fallen to the same luck as you. I lost my 2nd best DC for 9 games. Then the next game, I lost my best and 3rd best DC for a game due to yellow cards. I now have 1 guy, who is a hybrid DMC/DC and thus good at neither. I am knee deep in a battle for 2nd place. Due to a goal for me in the 87th minute last game, I'm in second by 2 pts.
Next up, I get to play our own 1836er - Texas 1836's minor team...which is still loaded with big fish. He's got some heavy offensive players likely to exploit my center backs.
If I win this game, I'm likely in great position, since 3rd place plays the far and away top team in our league in his next match. If I lose, then it sets up in the following match a showdown with 3rd place who is as good as my team (thus a coinflip).
I did buy for $2M an old 32.9 yr old DC (likely to announce retirement in a week) with good skill placement for his 2500 asi. I'm hoping he can man the position for 1 game while I get some players back for the showdown match. The last game we both get cupcakes so this game is very important.
If this was Italian Serie B, I'd send 1836er a bag of money to promote some of those giants off his minor roster. As it is, I'll beg

Kairos FC leads 3.7 with three matches left, fellow Ag FC Austin in third. I play second (North Wisconsin) then second plays third...crazy.
With 3 games left to go, I am pretty solid in 2nd place. I am 5 up on the third place team and will play them for fixture 33. Should be an interesting finish. Looking to secure my American OMC and I will have my starting XI done.

Space City FC started at the beginning of the month and have since gone 3-1-0 to the top of division 6 group 35. we have a slightly defensive mentality and use shortpassing in a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 formation.
im going up against the #2 team in our league on 8/11 and they look good. they lineup in an odd 3-5-2 and have somewhat attacking mentality with shortpassing. they use these positions

my question is, should i switch to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-2-1 and try to expose the space on the left side, or does the simulator pick up stuff like that. this is the style i eventually want to take up, but my current OMCs do not have much routine yet and im waiting until around match 8-10 to start putting the younger guys into the rotation.
im also worried about my slightly defensive mentality. we get a lot of shots off, and are 2nd in the league in goals with 9, but i'm wondering if i should play more defensive to counter his attacking mentality and play for a draw?

Yeah, Beer Snob posts a lot in the TM forum. He's in 2.3. The ranking member is probably 1836er though he doesn't post here much. His team (Texas 1836 SC) is in the ML.
As for your tactics question, I'd say play to your strengths. I personally don't get too caught up in what the other team does, I merely try and figure out what my players do best.
