First below .500 week of the year at 4-5. Not awful though. Got very unlucky with the Purdue game and should have won.

At the end of the day, it's still been a profitable season and we'll bounce back. Week three is actually known for being a rough week for bettors.

Two for this week that pop out to me immediately: Wake Forest +14.5 and Kansas State +12.5.

Clemson is not 14.5 points better than the Deacons on neutral field and especially not on the road. Deacons should be able to keep this within a touchdown.

Kansas State +12.5 is a result of an overreaction to the outcomes of both the KSU loss and the OU win. Neither team is as good or bad as they looked last week.

Yeah, that Wake Forest line moved quick. I was able to jump on it early but understand most weren't able to. I won't include that in my record on here... seems unfair.

Anyones thoughts on USC -6.5 vs Oregon St? Played a common opponent in Fresno St.

I'm taking CCU bigly @ -2.5 against GA St. I don't see Ga St doing much against Carolina, and I'm thinking this spread will increase. Thoughts?

CCU is down this year. They killed me last week and adjusted my ratings and don't see much value there. In fact, I almost lean Georgia State if you can get it at +3. It's a stay away for me though.

Sorry I couldn't break even for you... like I said, bad weeks happen. I've hit at a 56% rate in CFB over the last 3 years so I am confident we profit long term. Trust the process!

Don't look too far into the common opponent thing. 90% of college football teams play up and down week to week. Some teams get up for certain games, some don't. I just don't have much faith in USC's defense and I like what I've seen from the Beavers. I think they can keep it tight. It's a stay away for me at 6.5 but I might take the Beavers if I can get them at +7.

Rice/Houston over 56.5: The Kansas/UH total last week was my biggest bet of the day and it hit with ease. I'm just going to go back to the well until I get burned. This UH offense is good and think they'll want to take some anger out on their rival down the street. The Rice offense isn't nearly as good as KU, but I still think they can get to at least 20. I don't see Rice holding UH under 40 points. 42-20 gets us there.

A&M/Arkansas under 48.5: Look, I just haven't seen anything from this A&M offense to lead me to think we can get over this number. It's really as simple as that. I know the Arkansas pass defense is bad but are we sure the Aggies can expose that? It's a "I'll believe it when I see it" thing for me.

Central Michigan +28 at Penn State: Yeah, this one made me cringe but remember when I took Lousiana Tech +33 at Clemson and it hit? Same thing here. There's no doubt that Penn State is the much better team, but sometimes you have to look at the situation. The Nittany Lions played at Auburn last week and dive into conference play next week. They will win this game... but how motivated will they be to win big? CMU has already gone on the road and gave Okie State a scare and they have enough talent to keep this within the number. 42-17 cashes this ticket for us.

No problem. Quick summary...

A) This is a tough spot for Florida State. They've played two tough games in the last three weeks (LSU and Louisville) and this is a classic let down spot. They have three straight games against ranked opponents after this week.

B) Even if Jordan Travis plays, I doubt he's going to be 100%. FSU had several guys go down last week so they won't be fully healthy.

C) I sincerely believe Boston College is better than they've been playing so far this year. This seems like a spot where they'll give FSU their best. They have a legit QB in Phil Jurkovec who will keep his team in it. They're coming off an easy game against Maine so I'm sure they've been game-planning for FSU for a couple weeks now.

17.5 points is a lot and I think BC hangs in there the whole way.

I'm grabbing Southern Miss +13 vs Tulane as well due to the situation. Xs and Os are a huge part of handicapping, but I think learning situations and finding spots that favor certain teams is equally, if not more, important.

Tulane is coming off a great win on the road against Kansas State and have a big matchup against Houston next week. Do you really think they're completely dialed in on lowly Southern Miss? Of course not.

Southern Miss should be the more motivated team here, especially after they saw Tulane take down the Wildcats last week. Do I think Tulane is better? Absolutely. But this is a brutal spot for the Green Wave and I think the Golden Eagles will keep this fairly close the whole way. Look for a 10 point Tulane win and a Southern Miss cover.
