Mi Tierra Tortilleria just opened its third location last week. It's on Texas in Bryan in the strip center where Mr. Hamburger was.

OMG I just went and it's a game changer. Great pozole, and the salsas and tortillas are excellent.

Oh! Three types of tamales too, since that came up in another thread. Pork, chicken, and a bean based veggie one.

Pozole on Mondays, menudo on Fridays and Saturdays. Insanely friendly folks who love explaining what they have.

This isn't an official "Coming" post but I didn't want to start a new thread for it.

For those who remember Hebert's Cajun shack, the family of the original owner has opened up a food truck out in Coldspring (near Lake Livingston). I went out to try it a few days ago and it was just as good as I remember. They've only been operating for a few months but they said one of their goals is to get back to College Station.

IHOP at University and South College has a sign on their door this morning that they are closed. I heard they are permanently closing.

For the long time folks in BCS, why do the local Mexican places like La Famila, CoCo Loco, etc not offer margaritas ? We have tried like crazy to find our Friday evening Mexican food place like we had back in Cypress and it's a waste land. Sadly we opt for Gringos or Lupes but miss a good little mom and pop place. Jose's is a hard no, casa rod is hit or miss as is Papa Perez. Mas Fajitas is meh.

They just don't want to deal with a liquor license. Most of the ones I've talked to don't think they'll sell enough to make it worth the hassle.

Have you tried Don Chente?

I'll give them a try. Breakfast tacos are a different story. This area has tons of great breakfast taco places.

Rusty just posted about it so I'm assuming someone from KBTX has been reading this thread.

I would believe so. That area is an eyesore, but a highrise there would be great.

Agreed. But, I would think the property with Hurricane Harry's would need to be a part of any development. I haven't heard that the owner is ready to do anything yet.

Caminos Mexican Cafe is off Welborn next to that Ashley Furniture store (old fat burger location). Their hot sauce is amazing and they have a full bar. We recently discovered them and they are in our regular rotation!

Plans for University/South College. There is a parking garage where Harry's is currently located.

Yes - that's the current level of the reporting Gray TV is bringing to the BV. That and unexplained loud noises off Elmo Weedon surmised to be due to oil "rigs" despite the absence of any said "rigs" - only well heads and storage tanks.

Legacy Point? A later plan from 2019? Well, SOMEBODY'S reading a certain College Station history blog, which mentions both.

This fits with the thread.

The rig was there but left after it made all the noise.
