They used to come out with a menu card. Laminated. With the choices on it.

If you want me to order at a certain spot, give me a menu there or before. I hate looking at menus on a phone and will, in the future, relish the thought that you might be behind me. Your real gripe is with the restaurant.
My gripe is not with a fast food restaurant that goes out of their way to get people through the line, up to and including hiring more people specifically to stand outside, essentially inventing the multiple lane drive through, having payment options right there instead of taking your CC inside to process it, and generally revolutionizing the fast food industry through service all restaurants are currently chasing right now.

Nope. My gripe will be with the selfish SOB that thinks they are so important that, despite all of the above, they should still be further catered to and who cannot be bothered to put any effort into the process. Becaue reading a menu that has barely changed in 40 years is hard, but playing on facebook or texags or (more likely) looking at fat dude porn is more important.

Meanwhile, that same selfish SOB would lose their ever loving mind if somebody did essentially the same thing to them in a different setting.

HTMFH. Toodles!
100% this. Except it really takes no extra effort at all. It takes a certain level of oblivious to not know what a place sells before going in the drive thru, or needing to see the pretty picture of the food to decide what you want. And you know what? That kid that has the ipad and is taking your order so that you can get through faster -- he or she probably knows what is on the menu better than you and if you were to, I don't know, ask a question, they would probably answer it. Unless it was "what do you have here" at WB or CFA, in which case I would hope the kid would pull out a hammer or pipe and bash you with it.

Well, I'm usually going 10-15 above the speed limit... so...
If someone has enough room to pass you on the right, then you're in the wrong lane.

I have a general idea of what they sell but I don't know what specifically I want that day which is what a menu is for. If they want to take my order 12 cars back, put a menu 12 cars back or don't be shocked when I ask to see a menu.

Another one to add: when I order the Number 1 and get asked, the sandwich or the meal? Well the Number 1 is a combo. My order literally tells you the answer before you even ask the question.

And yes, I know this is CYA for the idiots that will ***** because they ordered a Number 1 and got a meal when they really wanted just the sandwich.

For somebody that loves menus and *****es about not having them, you sure don't read them. #1 is for the sandwich or meal. It's very clear on the MENU!!!

If somebody's going over 20-25 miles an hour above the speed limit, I could care less if I'm going slower than that. The type I'm talking about are weaving in and out of traffic; it doesn't matter how fast everyone else is going, they are still going to drive in a reckless manner.

Volkswagen's insane choice of fasteners that no normal person has the the socket, wrench, etc size in there tool box.
This brought up another one that I can't believe I didn't think of yesterday:

Why do auto manufacturers (mostly domestic, but some foreign) insist on having standard and metric sized bolts and nuts? FUGGIN WHY???? Pick one - IDGAS - but pick ONE and go with it. Metric? Fine. Standard? Fine. But using both is enough to make me want to club baby seals in front of a room full of cancer children at St. Jude's.

Also....why can't auto makers find a way to use the same size bolt/nut as much as possible on a vehicle? Seems that would be a huge cost savings for them with purchasing, machinery, tools, etc. There is absolutely no reason almost every fastener can't be a 13mm or 5/8" socket. You should be able to grab one or the other (because you know it's metric or standard, you ******* auto makers) and do 90% of the basic automotove work required. The fact that I have to have 26 different sockets out, which I always grab the wrong friggin one, is enough that I would gladly vote "not guilty" if a mechanic went to Detroit and eliminated the entire engineering department at Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc. in a fit of absolute rage and anger.
I've done a ton of work on my Honda's and it's 10mm, 12mm, 15mm and 17mm...and that's about it. No Torix, no oddball sizes, standard push plastic fasteners that most everyone else uses.

I've never seen SAE and Metric on the same vehicle though. Who does that?

I get mad at the people taking up the diesel pumps but I really think they have no idea. Should just make diesel pumps separate and we would not have to deal with this.
How is anyone supposed to know that some pumps have gas/diesel and some have gas only? It's not obvious until you pull into the gas lane that a pump has both handles. And honestly at the places I get gas, I assumed ALL the pumps had both, not just a few.
People have already mentioned the handles which, yes, are hard to see from a distance but are definitely visible before pulling into a lane. Many pumps also have green hoses for the diesel and many pumps have "diesel" flags at the top.

Legitimate question: my dad drove a diesel when I was a kid and passed it to me when I turned 16, so I have always been aware of pumps. That said, I've sat waiting for plenty of gas cars to fill up while several gas only pumps were available. Have you (or anyone else) never wondered why someone seemed to want your exact pump even though there were many others available?
nope....never had someone wait.

Old man gripe: The "this is my speed" driver.

Going down a two lane road, speed limit 70. "My speed" driver is going 60, impeding traffic like a boulder in the middle of a stream. You finally manage to pass them, going 90 for a short distance to avoid getting smashed by oncoming traffic.

Two miles later, you hit town, speed limit drops to 45, you drop to 45. Seconds later, here come "My speed", still serenely going 60, and passes you. You both get held up at the one stop light in town. Get the other side of town, limit goes back up to 70, oh look! You're trapped behind "My speed" at 60 mph again.
That's almost as bad as "I'm going to maintain safe distance" driver in rush hour traffic...They pause and wait to accelerate while traffic ahead moves to maintain that distance, and then a few cars jump in front of them and your line is basically going backwards!

100% this.

DGAF how fast you are going and if you think it's fast enough. If somebody in the left lane is riding you or you are being passed by people in the right hand lane, get the hell out of the passing lane. I really don't like most traffic laws because I think they are dumb, but i would rejoice at seeing a statewide push to enforce "left lane for passing" by all LEO agencies.

We see it on 35 sb typically between Pearsall and Laredo. It's usually a warning and Leo is using it for cause to look in vehicles heading south. Still, they are doing it, it's a step in the right direction.

How about the fall ball 12u coach that threw a kid 90 pitches against us last Wednesday. My son said he was crying going through the handshake line when it was over. I felt bad because I was the first base coach for our team and didn't realize it until he was at 86 pitches. Pointed it out to the umpire who after four more pitches just called the game(drop dead in fall ball).

I want to cup check the coach that did that

This thread is damn near gold.

I honestly thought I was the only one annoyed that I never got to order from the menu at Chick-fil-A. I didn't even know they had spicy chicken strips until I read an article that they were gone. Just always ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and nuggets because that's all I thought they sold.
