
Texas A&M slugger Mya Perez named SEC's Co-Player of the Week
SEC honors for the sophomore.
On Monday, Texas A&M first baseman Mya Perez was named the Southeastern Conference’s co-Player of the Week after a standout weekend at the JoAnne Graf Classic.
Perez hit .529 (9-for-17) with an outstanding 11 RBIs. Additionally, the sophomore launched a trio of home runs and walked twice.
Against a fellow top-10 foe in No. 8 Florida State on Saturday, the infielder went 3-for-7 at the plate, driving in three runs and massively contributing to A&M’s doubleheader sweep of the Seminoles on Saturday.
The Corona, Calif., native helped Trisha Ford’s Aggies improve to 15-1, going a perfect 5-0 in Tallahassee.
In her role as a key piece of A&M’s offense, Perez has excelled, hitting .444 through 16 games.
Starting at first base in every game this season, Perez leads the Aggies in hits (20), home runs (4), RBI (27) and slugging percentage (.778).
