It definitely fluctuates due to water weight. If you are staying well hydrated and get a little too much sodium one day, the weight will be up the next. Also gains of muscle mass will offset some fat loss at times.maverick2076 said:
Yeah, when I first started this I would get anxious and frustrated when I wasn't showing a drop every day. If 3-4 days would go by without a drop, or even a gain, I'd get tempted to throw in the towel. As I got used to my weight loss cycling I stopped worrying so much. Once I get down closer to 190 I'll move to weighing myself weekly.
I have two apps I am tracking weight in. LoseIT and FitBit. LoseIT gives a nice trend line over time and FitBit shows me my average weight per week. Both are really helpful in seeing longer trends. I don't worry if I am up half a pound one day or another especially since I am tracking my food/calories.
And for those who haven't seen what "five pounds of fat" looks like...
