A little bittersweet. On one hand, Stowers is a DFW kid and former Aggie player and I want to see him do well. On the other, sounds like the almighty Howie might've whiffed on a second round pick.

I'm curious to see how Hurts does with his "new" WR room. Smith is good, but he's very slight. Lemon is thicker but he's only 5' 11". Not sure if they've had any standout WRs in camp, but losing that tall/big bodied #1 WR in AJ Brown is going to be a blow.

It's not like they are going to be terrible, but I bet (hope) they really struggle to consistently move the ball down the field with Hurts throwing to undersized WRs. Goedert is getting old and you know they were counting on Stowers to be a bigger target for Hurts.

Yep, Von looking quick. He would need a hard bend to finish turning the corner and get the sack (wasn't doing that for practice)... hopefully his body is up to the task all season.

Dak looking like an elite QB right there. Navigated the pocket like the pro he is and what a beautiful ball into tight coverage. It's truly amazing how good he is throwing the football compared to the guy at Miss State who was more of a dual threat.

I'm hoping they struggle after getting flagged for false start on the tush push about ten times in a row now that the NFL is supposed to be looking closer.

Not to hijack the thread, but I feel pretty passionately about this.

It frustrates me to no end the hate Dak gets around the league (primarily the NFL media complex). Your point is a good one. This was a guy that came into the league with very little expectation to be a quality NFL QB. The guy has done nothing but work his butt off. He's been a fantastic teammate and been a model citizen that is annually discussed for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. He should be a model of the best of the league and what guys should aspire to...

But we all know that's not going to happen. If fact, I would argue that even if Dak wins a SB, it still won't end all the crap he takes.

I'll just blue star Mac and not say anything else because I agree, we don't need to start another Dak debate right now.

But in relation to the HEB commercial above, I think it's pretty obvious that Dak will have a plethora (yeah I just rewatched 3 Amigos the other day) of post career opportunities. If he wants to sit in front of cameras talking football he will have multiple offers.

Is Camden Brown a lock to make the 53? I still see him listed as a bubble player for the two likely remaining roster spots but I don't see any way he gets released as he would never clear waivers. The guy is good enough to develop into an NFL starter at some point IMO

I don't know if he's a lock, but if it comes down to him and Mingo, give me Brown. Dude looks like a natural gamer. Even though it's preseason, both of those TDs in the first preseason game took incredible concentration. Mingo has had three years to prove himself. Give me the younger guy who looks like he may have tremendous upside.

I think they keep both

Brown is locked up for many more years, think he'd get the edge, but I think they carry 6 WRs

Would feel really wrong for Camden Brown to not make the team.

Why is Turpin such a shoe in to make the team? He's a gadget player on offense and he wasn't near the top of the league in either punt returns or kickoff returns last year. No special teams TDs last year.

If the team wants Blue to have more touches in space, why are the KR and PR jobs not going to him?

If we don't keep six and are looking to cut Wingo, I hope we're shopping him now to get something in return. My gut tells me we'll keep 6.

Regarding Turpin vs. Blue in the return game. Not every fast RB has the KR/PR instincts. Blue had less than 5 KR while at tu. I like Turpin in this spot.

Again, think we keep 6 but if one has to go, to me, it's Wingo for reasons stated above but I'd sure be shopping him to get something in return.

This might be one of the real bright spots of hiring Parker. Sure you need the players to counter that and I believe we do now but if anyone knows the secrets to limit the effectiveness of Philly's tush push it's him.

Fun Fact: My dad named one of our bird dogs after Eugene Lockhart.... Luegene... Luegene the Hunting Machine!

My daughter works for the TSA at DFW. Said Eugene Lockhart came thru last week and had to go to the pat down as his shoulders are so bad he can't raise them higher than parallel and has to be sanded thru.

Dude was a tackling machine.

Yup. I don't disagree, but I don't get the feeling that Dallas is ready to get rid of either.

I'd personally roll with 2 TE's and hybrid Luepke on gamedays..... but, if Dallas feels like we need 3 TEs, I trust Schoon on Sunday a helluva lot more than Trigg (he's just not ready yet).

Nothing eye popping tonight but in most years, we would be keeping Hudson and A. Smith the two recievers. I'm betting at least one if them makes someones roster and the other gets on the practice squad. Blue is definitely on the roster and Mahfa will have to get through waivers.

Felt like Barham was borderline getting blocked in the back on at least 2 plays that he almost blew up.

Outside of that, there were maybe a handful of guys playing that have a shot at the 53 man roster.

Time for the real games to begin.

Im.glad you brought that up, bro. The block in the backs and the obvious holding the Saints were doing, but not getting called for, was ridiculous in the first half. The defense wasn't what it has been during the pre season but man, the refs just let them hold.

Well I flipping don't like it. Giving up a 3rd for a guy in the last year of his deal and isn't playing well since a neck injury.

I get that we are getting a 4th in return, but 3rd rounders are super valuable and we've done really well with those picks.

I don't understand this move.
