I think they still like Mingo, he's had a decent camp, and they invested a lot in him. I think the thought is that Brown and Mingo would be the #4 and 5 WR and you'd use a special teams roster spot for Turpin

Defense was atrocious in the first series of each half, but other than that, truly one of the better preseason games I've seen Dallas have in many years…

I didn't think they were terrible to start the game... Carson single handedly ruined that drive. His technique was awful on that PI call on 3rd down (the call was pretty weak too considering the ball was nowhere near catchable).
Really like our starting 3 CBs (Revelle looked on point in the handful of plays he got) and our safeties should be awesome. But we need to pray for health at CB... I haven't heard much praise from anybody outside the top 3.
Get back with me the weekend of the divisional playoffs in January.

RBs: Didn't like much of anything I saw from Blue or Mafah. Both left yards on the field IMO.
Lawrence: I see what people are saying about him... He flashes his talent at times, but he definitely looks like a rookie out there. Reminds me of D-Law... You didn't start to see any hints of his real potential until the very end of his rookie year.
4th Rounders: That OT and CB are not going to help us this year. Both are gonna take at least another year.
Barham: Stop being hurt... We can't overhype our 3rd round steal if you don't play.
RBs: Didn't like much of anything I saw from Blue or Mafah. Both left yards on the field IMO.

Trying to evaluate backs running behind backup OL and guys who won't even make the team is a complete waste of time. Preseason running back evals are next to impossible.

I thought Malik Davis looked pretty solid running behind guys who will be selling insurance in a month…
So if Jerry is really going to make a trade and use the extra cap space this year what makes the most sense at this point? A d-end or a CB? I'd lean towards CB is the more needed position. If Revel doesn't make a huge leap this year they are extremely thin right?

Two positions, for me.
OT or CB
You never know until the real games start, but people are high on Revel as well as Durant and Bland. Mix in Downs and our safeties contributing some in the slot, our secondary should be the best it's been in years. But we are lacking talent behind the starters.
I doubt the zero number but it does appear this defense will be much diff than last year.

Mafah didn't play much cause he got hurt amd the play Calling for Blue was disappointing because all his runs were up the middle, which is fine with a real offensive line , but not good with backups. The one time he was outside was that swing pass for 15 yards. He needs space and can be a game breaker like he was in college as long as he hangs on to the ball.

Based on everything I'm hearing, Trigg is practice squad bound. He's apparently well behind Schoon as an all around TE.
I guess it blocking because he's a better receiver than him. And I don't think it's particularly close.
And Trigg clearly has more upside. I mean Schoon is like 28 and in his last year of his rookie deal. He ain't getting any better.
Not sure you'll sneak Trigg onto the PS. You may have to keep him on the roster to keep him at all.

IMO he easily gets on the squad. Any team that claims him has to keep him on their active roster for at least 3 weeks. Nobody is going to hold a roster spot for an undrafted free agent TE.
Schoon is gone after this season. If he's clearly our 3rd best option then we roll with it for now.

I wish we could move on from schoon yesterday. I just hate that draft class because of Taco , but schoon hasn't shown anything to make him worth keeping.
