Osa is wildly overpaid for what he is, an above average pass rushing 3 tech who gets bulldozed way to often in the run game

Interesting moves at DT. When OSA was traded, Solomon was one of the guys I thought about as being that vet depth piece. But now he's gone too.

No complaints or praises, they are just trying to rebuild this defense to match what CP wants to do. Interested to see what they do next because they need more DL bodies now.

We're switching to a 3-4 and so some household names don't fit in our new scheme. Glad we at least got a third.

McShay's latest: Congrats on the Cowboys knowing this board. They know they're going to get one of the top 2 cornerbacks and they've attacked free agency with that in mind.

Dre Greenlaw just released by the Broncos. He was amazing for SF in 2023 before getting injured late in the year. Lost almost all of 2024 because of that injury. Played most of the back half of the year for the Broncos in 2025 including both playoff games.

May be an interesting flyer on a good player who is now 2+ years removed from his big injury. Will be 29 years old this season. I believe he was in a 3-4 system in SF.

Jermod isn't really an injury risk. He tore an ACL over a year ago. It shouldn't be a problem.

The only real question is why he didnt compete in the combine.

I think it's extremely premature to completely remove McCoy from your board. We haven't even seen his pro day performance yet. He's currently 14 months removed from the injury and will be 20 months from the injury by the time the season starts.

I don't think it's fair to compare him to guys like Revel and Jaylon Smith who were injured in the middle or late in the prior football season.

Same with Revel. Not really a "risk" and more of a "just wait until he's back".

Lee, Vander Esch, Smith etc. all had extremely serious injury history's of things that were viewed as potential career altering/ending things.

I do agree though that this year they cannot afford to be taking a guy who tore their ACL in October high in this upcoming draft.

I don't think it's a question. It's just the way it is now and the natural progression of player empowerment + sitting out (mostly meaningless bowl) games.

I don't like it, but it's the way things are now.

Agreed on this. If that's all it is is him getting bad advice, the knee is good, and he's not raising other red flags interviews/background checks, then at 12 he's possibly the steal of the draft.

McShay is REALLY good about raising a finger on a guy when there's off the field issues. No details just always a slight heads up.

He does have Delane as his #1 corner though, so we'll see.

I think McShay has Delane ahead only because McCoys agent is awful and the fact that he hasn't played in like 18 months. Which is fair.

Jermod McCoy definitely needs to be one of their 30 pre-draft visitors and spend half the day with Dr. Cooper.

And for some reason they're bringing in Omar Cooper Jr Indiana WR for a 30 visit. He's projected late first/early second. Smokescreen? Jerry and Stephen about to do something stupid with Pickens and need a backup plan?

McCoy's biggest issue is that he will be 18 months removed from playing a football game when training camp starts... and this is after only playing college ball for 2 seasons. Even if fully healthy, does anybody expect him to just walk into the NFL and be a plug and play starter?

I believe that's the Cowboy's issue. They don't have a redshirt year for him to figure it out. He's is a very risky pick.

Pretty much everyone from Clemson is all over the place. Good players most think but they were all SO bad this past year it's makes you stop and think for a second.

Who is his agent? I've seen that and heard McShay talk about it but I can't find a name.

It's almost identical to the 2025 Dallas defense... big eyebrow raise when everybody all of a sudden has the worst season of their career.

Very good chance that these Clemson boys will not disappoint. I may not be sprinting to the podium to draft one of them at #12, but I'm also not going to be upset if we get "wiped out" and we wind up with Peter Woods or Avieon Terrell. Even better if we snag one of them at #20.

David Mulugheta. Aka Micah Parsons and George Pickens' agent

Cowboys signed Cobie Durant on the cheap. Hard to understand how a guy like that doesn't get even a decent multi year deal. He's a starting caliber boundary corner in his prime, guys like that don't sign one year deals.

I count 4 players at his position who received 3+ years and $40+ million this week with comparable resumes, all in their 20s. Hes literally the only player of his caliber at his position that didn't sign a sizable multi year contract.

It's weird enough that I'm not excited about it because I have to be missing something. This guy should have cost $13ish million per year for at least 3 years.

He gave up several TDs in coverage last season, so I think that might have cooled the market just a bit. But he's a good player, and I think the Cowboys got a really nice deal on this one. He's a willing tackler with good ball skills.

It is, but that was a pretty good draft.

At least 2 of the guys are in the league as solid contributors / starters. 1 guy is a quality starter who got a very nice 2nd contract (Osa) and one is a HOF level talent.

The glass half full take on this is that when we could no longer make it work with these guys, we flipped them for two 1st rounders and a 3rd. (EDIT: Add a quality starter (Clark) to our return on investment)

I would take that every year! Give me an all world talent, a quality starter and 2 other contributors from this draft class and let's roll!

Cobie Durant is a good signing! You wouldn't him as the #1 corner necessarily, but he's a decent #2 and played well in the playoffs. He will allow the flexibility to move Bland back to the slot, which is good.
