The Bobby Shuttleworth era of Texas A&M soccer officially begins on Wednesday as the Fightin’ Texas Aggies open the 2026 season at Rice. We’re looking ahead to the upcoming campaign with our 2026 Texas A&M Soccer Preview Series.
A new head coach for A&M calls for some new Aggies.
Bobby Shuttleworth added four impactful transfers to his new team, one at each position. From players with international experience and individuals from different conferences, the transfers add their own unique experiences to this new era of A&M soccer.
#10 Bella Carapazza - Senior Midfielder - Lipscomb
Carapazza was a huge addition from Lipscomb in Nashville, where she played for three seasons in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The 2023 ASUN All-Freshman Team and 2024 First Team All-ASUN selection comes to Aggieland after appearing in 64 matches with 56 starts. Carapazza has a total of 14 goals and 17 assists under her belt. The 2023 ASUN Freshman of the Year appeared in 22 matches in 2025, logging a total of 1,792 minutes. The Tarpon Springs, Fla., native finished her junior year with 22 points, eight assists, seven goals — including two game-winners — and 46 shots, 23 of which were on target. These stats earned her honors such as First Team All-Region and First Team All-ASUN last year. She begins 2026 on the Hermann Trophy watch list.
#13 Norah Bell - Sophomore Defender - Arizona State
The Kamloops, B.C., Canada, native trades the Tempe desert for the College Station humidity. On April 16, Bell served as a substitute in the Canada U-20 National Team international camp in a friendly against Costa Rica. Setting a 0.98 goals-against average and contributing to ASU’s eight shutouts in 2025, Bell played in 19 matches last year — starting 18 — as a freshman. The triple-threat defender, midfielder and forward totaled 1,298 minutes of playing time in her first year. Bell is also bringing her club experience to the Aggie defense. Up north in Canada, she played for Kamloops United FC in League1 BC, Thompson Okanagan FC of the British Columbia Premier League, BC Soccer Provincial Program Development Group and the Vancouver Whitecaps Elite Academy's National Development Centre.
#15 Adelaide Paredes - Junior Goalkeeper - Mount St. Mary's/St. Bonaventure
Having played internationally with Portugal at the U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels, Paredes will now be under the guidance of a former MLS goalkeeper in Shuttleworth. To add to her international experience, Paredes appeared in three U17 qualifiers in 2023, earning wins over North Macedonia and Wales. The Newark, N.J., native spent her freshman year at Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland, where she played every minute in 2024, totaling 1,620. She recorded six shutouts, 89 saves, a .788 save percentage and a 1.33 goals-against average. Transferring to St. Bonaventure University in New York for her sophomore year, Paredes played in 12 matches with seven starts, 765 minutes and 53 saves.
#23 Ciara Jade Mitchell - Sophomore Forward - San Diego State
Mitchell steps onto the field after appearing in 15 matches with nine starts as a freshman for the Aztecs. Totaling 604 minutes of playing time, Mitchell recorded 23 shots, 12 on goal, which finished tied for third-most on the 2025 Aztec team. The Vancouver, B.C., native with dual citizenship, Mitchell qualified for the Jamaica U20 National team, and in 2025, she earned a call-up to the Reggae Girlz for a friendly against England. Along with her athletic achievements, Mitchell was also awarded the Mountain West All-Academic honor for her abilities in the classroom. In her club days, Mitchell made 29 appearances and scored 12 goals in the British Columbia Premier League (BCPL).
These new Aggies have already debuted in exhibition action and are ready to start their regular season at Rice on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. CT.
