Agree that Savage will be the opening day starter, barring injury. But he hasn't established himself as a quality QB yet. During his 2 starts, he had difficulty getting the ball in the end zone. Maybe he can get better with experience, but it's still "wait & see" with him.

These holdouts when a team has control is just dumb. If I were a team, I would let them holdout for however long they feel necessary and fine them where the contract allows fines, f'them.
If you actually fine them then you can probably say goodbye to getting them to re-sign when the time comes.

Fine by me, if this is Hopkins, then this is the second time he has pulled this s***. I hate diva players and he is playing the role of a diva that seemingly talented WR play.

The problem is that players negotiate these deal with owners during labor negotiations, maybe next time during these negotiations they should holdout and miss a full NFL season to get guaranteed deals. I want to make it clear I am not defending the owners, I am just not a fan of a player holding out.

Jesus who cares? Guy has been a solid player for us, and from what I've read a great teammate and a high character guy. Probably a top 5 player for the team all time.

Duane Brown is hands down the best offensive linemen to ever play for the Texans. I doubt he will ask for the moon but if he wants something guaranteed for his continual excellence, I don't blame him. I wouldn't care if Dhop sat out either. They earned it. Pay them.
We gave up a second round pick for a bunch of cap space. Those guys are solid investments. We should use that cap space right now so I don't have to hear about this B.S. all offseason.

Teams overpaid for tackles this off season because there aren't many quality ones. It's a smart move on his part
Why not just extend him an additional year and guarantee the next two years?
It is a smart move on his part and I agree he is one of the better players to ever play for the Texans. It's a perfect storm for him seeing as that OL is a weak spot for the team.
However, I wouldn't be mad if they dug their heels in and said they weren't going to guarantee any money to a OL his age with his recent injury history.

We've got ton of cap space and the rest of the OL is average. Why not hold out? Sucks for him to do it, but I can see the logic
