I want the Texans to take Peterman just for all the Seinfeld jokes.

"Haha, my friend! It appears that my judicious use of the snap count has yet again induced you into crossing the neutral zone. Fourth and 5? I think not, you magnificent scalawag!"

Because of his excellent QB drafting knowledge (3 in 10 years):

  • 2008 7 (223) Alex Brink
  • 2011 5 (152) T.J. Yates
  • 2014 4 (135) Tom Savage

Have the Texans brought in any of the notable draft-eligible QBs for in-town visits? I haven't seen reports of any, other than Trevor Knight and Matt Davis, which I would not include as notable.

I read somewhere they went to Peterman's pro day, but not sure about the others

Texans are usually pretty good about keeping their list of targets under wraps.

It's not that.

It's just they always have a board full of guys other teams never thought they would draft. I can see other teams draft day war rooms right now.

'Man that wasn't a smoke screen. Rick actually drafted that guy.'

Trending up in the round we draft one in, too! Looks like a potential 2/3rd rounder this year, and we don't have long to wait until 2020 when we take a shot at a franchise guy in the 1st round!

Dumbest franchise this side of Ohio. Really dumb, fo real

So if the Texans were to actually select a QB in round one, which one is your preference? Trubisky has the tools but lacks experience. Watson has been clutch in big moments and has the intangibles, but does he have NFL tools. Mahomes has the big arm and lots of intrigue, but does it translate to the NFL? Then there is Kizer, Webb, or Peterman. If all were available to the Texans, who is your guy and why?
oh no

I think Mahomes is my favorite. I think he's got a winning "it" factor/confidence/swagger to him that translates to leadership in the locker room and his arm is legit, regardless of the system he's coming out of and the learning curve for play-calls vs signals and progressions, etc. I think he's the best HUNH "air raid" pro prospect in a while and has the intelligence to make the transition.

So long as they don't use a 1st round draft pick on any of the QBs in this year's draft, I'll be happy.

i don't think any of the rookie QBs can help you in year 1, so i would draft for upside. i think that leaves you with mahomes or kizer.

Whichever QB they draft, they definitely shouldn't consult BOB before they do it.

I think that was sarcasm based on the Brock saga... at least I hope so.

Yes.

Reading between the lines on bilbo's posts such as this:

"We didn't know Brock well enough. Coach didn't get a chance to get to know him....we didn't know him that well."
-----Bob McNair

Then why don't you fire the guy that brought him here, your GM..

As far as Romo, I don't see the Texans blinking on this one. Want Romo and Romo prefers Houston but it's all up to Jerry.
While I don't recall that he has ever confirmed the rumor that BOB was not consulted before Rick pulled the trigger to bring him here, the implications have been that it is likely true. Rick brought him here. BOB didn't get a chance to know him before the signing. The trade indicates BOB got Rick to admit his mistake in signing him and helps reshuffle the power structure more in BOB's favor.

this goes back to my thinking...at pick #25...best player available.

the Texans need a backup plan in case the bpa at #25 is not a QB

There's a very good chance that the BPA at 25 won't be a QB.

At 25 (or anywhere in Rd 1 for that matter) you should be picking a player who will be starting. If you are so strong across every position that you don't need a starter anywhere you better have won the SB.

I'm sorry but I still want Deshaun Watson in the 1st. You make the system work for him. If he's gone, then I'm all for o line and peterman in the 2nd

It's so hard to predict this QB class and where they go because nobody really separates themselves in the eyes of the "experts." Should be fun to watch.
