The way Jacksonville structured the deal was key. APY $14.5 for the first three years. That is more than the tag number.

Good point. Surprised the guaranteed money isn't a little higher though.

I on a 5/68 I'd have guessed closer to 50% guaranteed.

Cleveland paid 16 mil to get a 2nd rounder, they will probably pay another amount of his salary and trade osweiller for another draft pick.


Pretty smart with all that cap room.

I think what the Browns did was genius.

They are loading up on draft picks (11 picks in each of the next 2 drafts) and taking on the extra money while they have room. He'll be off their books at the end of the year.

They may even flip the acquired pick into a QB. Like maybe their 12th and their 2nd rounder for Garropolo. then tthey draft Myles at 1.1, have Garrapolo, and tons more picks the next two years.

Good move by both teams and we may see more of these type moves in the future.
