Honestly, I wouldn't doubt it. I don't fully buy into the "we aren't looking into it" that we keep hearing from gubment sources.
This is a topic that, if true, would probably cause the most fundamental shift in humanity ever seen. Intelligent life not human, residing off planet, that is aware of US.
Such knowledge of their actual existence could be the most important fact of all time. Our society would probably collapse if confirmed.
We have extremely intelligent and capable people in our government. People that have worked for decades doing the same thing and transcending presidential administrations that come and go. If there is ever a truly blackest of the most black organization that "doesn't exist", I can't help but think it would be for the search and study of aliens. And with that, I would think they would absolutely have the pull to orchestrate "random run ins" with UFOs using information and data that we simply aren't privy to. Nor ever will be.

Is that like saying any civilization that could learn to cross the Atlantic ocean would also have the technology to calculate longitude?
Because we crossed the oceans before we could calculate longitude which seems like a pretty easy thing to determine if you already know how to build ships capable of crossing vast oceans and already calculate latitude. Yet Columbus etc could only roughly estimate longitude not calculate it.
Knowing what is possible or impossible seems to be more of guess than an absolute.

Scientist now have a pretty good idea of the tech required to bend space and time and basically get anywhere we want in a matter of moments. It would obviously take more energy than we could possibly harness at the moment, but we at least understand - in a broad sense - the tech required to make it happen, and it's not *that* out there. While I agree that anyone who masters that kind of tech will have likely also mastered some kind of invisibility/cloaking tech, not a one of us can speak with certainty as to when and how that tech would be utilized, in what situations, or if certain entities/objects even want to go unseen 100% of the time. Trying to understand the intentions of a civilization likely millions of years in advance of ours is a pointless exercise. Same goes when speaking with authority on their motivations, how much we may or may not already be in contact with them, and if some of what witnesses are seeing is our own hybrid tech based on what we've learned via potential contact, perhaps without having mastered the invisibility/cloaking aspect quite yet.

I have no doubt aliens exist, it's effectively a mathematical certainly. The odds of us being truly alone in the universe are so long they really aren't worth discussing. The only questions are are they carbon based, are they sentient, are they intelligent and are they more advanced than us. I'm simply saying the chances that a civilization advanced enough to get here could be detected by us against their will, or are intentionally hanging around just to freak us out, are equally as remote.
But to believe people are seeing demons/spirits in the sky is more absurd than anything I talked about above lol

I read the Reagan briefing transcripts somewhere and it was absolutely fascinating. The Ebens etc. I kept thinking if what I was reading was true, I would have been reacting exactly the same way Reagan was at the time - flabbergasted. His parts of the transcript followed his real speech patterns and I could hear his voice in my head as he was led through one revelation after another. While I of course can't determine if the transcripts are real or not, it was at the top of the list of most fascinating things I have ever read. The other thing on the list is the multiple physical paranormal experiences my very close friends had in their home they inadvertently built on Native American burial ground. They had to sell their house. The guy that lives there now has gone crazy and his wife and kids have left him. There is more to this universe than our little minds can grasp.
