my uncle is in one. he always talks about this secrecy to it and the glamour behind it. i picture them meeting in some ****ty school cafeteria drinking coffee and eating cookies.... basically an AA meeting

If possible one day I'd love to see us focus on one conspiracy at time. For at least a day or so. I think we're all pretty much familiar with most of the conspiracy theories being mentioned but haven't had the time to really get into them as deep as we'd like. Sure would like to learn more about the things y'all have learned over the years.

There is no "Masonry" we can easily define. Division after division.
However: like the topic Staff firmly asked me not to write about, this diverse reality is united by an energetic negative definition: against Catholicism (and politically, throne and altar).

Until the 1980s or so, this mattered a lot.

Also, Masons: your "history" is total garbage, and yes I've read official accounts of it.

The Mason's knew they were found out long ago, so they started the Scottish Rite. That also got found out, so who knows where they are.

There are plenty of diverse (and divisive, internally) terms and proper names whose underlying commonality is a negative definition:
Masonry (as against Catholicism) is one.

And one branch ran Italy for decades, ending less than a decade ago.
