Just watched Chris on the Ellen show, didn't talk a whole lot about the movie other than the concept that this movie is about how far the worlds come in technology that want around 20 yrs ago, like google and internet and smart phones, and as a society nothing really impresses us... And at the same time the official Facebook page released a new clip!

I've always been more intrigued by the suddenly appearing cliff that Grant and co. climb down to get away from the T-Rex, when it was just a flatland pen where the T-Rex was fed moments before.

Does anyone have an explanation?

Because this is followed up a few scenes later with Ellie saying, "The other car!!" The next shot is her and Muldoon looking it over with their flashlights. If there was a cliff, how'd they get down so fast? And then back up again, too! I feel like we're at the petunias / oh no, not again level here:

From the JP wiki:

Often incorrectly regarded as a goof is the fact that when the Tyrannosaurus exits her paddock from ground level with the road, there's the sudden appearance of a cliff when she pushes the car over it. In reality, there is in fact a cliff that acts as a natural barrier for the Tyrannosaurus, otherwise she would be able to exit her padock through the gap between the fencing and the tunnel with ease. The diagram on the right illustrates what happens.
