The last couple years with LMJ, part of me wonders if we've errored on the side of giving him time, time and more time to get fully right and preserve whatever longevity he still has in the tank.

Now maybe we're to the point where it's time to accept that he'll never be fully 100% and he'll always have nagging arm injuries, so start pitching through them. Just give us whatever is in the tank these next two years.

I still think he can be a starter and I'm not sure going to the bullpen with a sporadic schedule would be much better for his arm. Just my 2 cents.

Brown was on 790 about a month ago and said Garcia will be in spring training, Javier is projected for mid summer, and LMJ "has been tossing and looks good..." whatever that means.

I really want LMJ as a bullpen guy. To me his stuff is still elite and I'd love for him to be the 8th inning guy if we trade Pressly away

I think at least for this year that could be the best move and then see how he feels going into 2026

I believe this was researched and the pen isn't easier on the arm. There's a lot of warming up and sitting down. You may go two days in a row then not pitch for 3 days. The best thing for him would be to go every 5th day but not be expected to go more than 4 innings. A tandem situation with him and Garcia to start the year would make sense.

I'd love for them to alternate guys based on matchups. LMJ/Abreu/Hader for the 7-9th inning and the order alternates based on matchups

It's the other way around. Harder was the one talking about being a 9th inning guy in his press conference and then tacked on the general "I'll do whatever I'm asked of" jargon.

Pressly certainly didn't handle being "demoted" to the 8th inning, but I don't think Hader was particularly keen on being used any earlier than the 9th if he wasn't going to also get the 9th. Biggest reason we didn't use the back end of the rotation by an advantage basis is Hader.

There was a holiday mixer at my country club, and I had the opportunity to meet Ryan Pressly's wife. My sister and brother in law are also members, and my sister was talking to an introduced me to pressly's wife.

I'm not sure how they got on the subject but his wife said that he can barely move his arm the day after throwing, regardless of how many pitches he throws. She laughed it off as him "getting old"

He's always shaking out his arm on the mound (that's been a thing for years). I guess that makes sense.
