From Lyon's perspective, I would give us the edge because as far as I know we have been talking straight purchase the entire time. PSG is offering loan with an obligation. Plus with PSG they would be selling within the same league. No idea how Aouar views PSG.

I gonna say at this point I don't see anything changing with the squad. All the players rumored to be moving were at the practice today except for Torreira who is in Spain. His move to Madrid depends on them selling a few players which doesn't seem to be happening.

Aouar news has cooled and it sounds like we won't meet Lyon's demands. We really needed multiple midfield signings and I don't think we get one

Bigger kick in the nuts... Marc Roca just signed with Bayern for 15m euro. Should have jumped on that a month ago. Wouldn't have been the creative MF that Aouar is but he could have been a legit #6 for a 4-3-3.

The midfield may have to wait until winter and next summer. This year may have to focus on developing the re-invented back line and ushering some of the young players forward.

Its seemed like Arteta hasn't completely closed his mind to Ozil and Guendouzi, so if they can't move them by the deadline, maybe we see a more earnest effort to re-integrate them into matchday squads. Who the hell knows anymore.

If Ozil and Guendouzi can't get on the bench for the earliest round of the EFL Cup, are they gonna be allowed to ever make the squad?

We still have to many non-HG players on the squad so I don't think Ozil is going to even be registered to play.
