Fabrizio Romano said yesterday he wasn't close to going somewhere else yesterday on his show. I'll take his word at the moment over the guy dropping the RBL rumor. I know I'd like to keep Balogun over Nketiah, but I have a feeling its going to be the other way around.

Bottom line, we never should have waited this long to try and resign. Should have been an extension in front of him 2 summers ago and if he turned it down he should have been sold with a buy back clause.

Yep, offense continues to be problematic as it has been most of the season.

This performance looked disjointed, disinterested, and labored. I continue to hold my opinion Xhaka is a hack, and Pepe - the 72 million pound man - continues to do NOTHING, whether he starts or subs into the match.

Hopefully another win against Newcastle is in the cards for Monday.

Not to argue too much but, Xhaka was the best player on the field today. Granted, that doesn't say much, but he and actually the midfield in general wasn't the issue today

Disagree, but he certainly wasn't the worst. Does not change MY view of him, however.

Here's to hoping the Tierney tidbit you dropped is nothing of note.

ESR & Partey showed some flashes down the middle but our confidence is definitely on the outside right now. The problem there is the PEA is not confident and is making mistakes and bad decisions when he has the ball.

Agree that having an OG type ST right now would be very helpful. Laca is good with holdup play but he just isn't that great in the air or getting himself on the end of low crosses.

I've not seen Partey dictate what happens in the middle at all. He appeared to just be a stacked CB the first half.
