This story reminds me of an open house I went to a few weeks back off of 288 South and Southmore.
I park right across the street from the new townhomes and go inside. About 10 minutes later, a lady walks in and demands to know who parked "in her daughter's spot?".
After the builder talked to them for a second, we realized she was talking about my truck. Rather than get into a big argument and possibly have my car messed with, I go down and agree to move it.
As I'm getting in the car I get stared down by about 4 different neighbors and the girl waiting for "her" spot. The woman starts yelling at me that I "gotta a lotta nerve" parking where her daughter has been parking for 15 years. I couldn't help but notice at that point that the girl in the car couldn't have been older than 18, but oh well.
Anyway, I get to park about 3 blocks down in a huge mud hole, which I'm pretty pleased about.
As I'm walking back to the open house, I see that the lady is still out in the front lawn yelling to her neighbors about what a mess I caused. She then screams (to no one in particular) that "when white folks move into a neighborhood they think they can just take over".
At that point, I lose my cool a little bit and tell her that it's a public street and I didn't have to move my truck at all but I was being polite.
Then her husband gets up off of the front bench and comes at me. Mind you, this guy is about 280+ and looks pretty angry. He starts running towards me screaming how dare I talk to his wife like that and I better mind my manners. The crazy wife comes my way yelling at me as well. We have it out in the middle of the street for a while until one of the more rational neighbors comes forward and calms them down.
I then decide it might be best to retreat back to the open house before I get into trouble.
Needless to say, I won't be recommending this particular house to any future clients.
So long story short...I guess it could be worse for you Old Main.
